Is there still a point in this section?
New hot flyff releases are no where to be found. Nothing of worth is being posted here. There is no joy here either:blink:

People in this section are really selfish. It wasn't always like that :(:
I thought I start this discussion since I'm bored and it bothers me.
Lets show some life in this section lol.
As long as the official servers are live and private servers exist, there's still a point to this section. Flyff development, from both private servers and developers, has been quite sluggish lately, but I'm sure it will pick up eventually. It's just somewhat quiet right now, and eFlyff hasn't been updating at all.
I dont see you releasing anything "new" or "hot". If you don't like how it is, change it.

There is a point in having this section still.
FlyFF still has alot of potential which is mostly not used by the developers or admins.
There only needs to be one admin that makes the game like it needs to be (EFlyff original stuff, no fancy WoW Wings, Game in Full HD playable, active updates and bug fixes etc.)
Most of the talented developers just turn the server into p2w concept which makes it hard for people to play there even they have good security.
No offense Eddy, but haven't you quit this scene numerous times? I mean, if you're going to quit, then quit. You can't just post public announcements declaring your departure, and then be back in a week just to slander the scene more. It's the FlyFF section, man. It hasn't done anything for a while, and I wouldn't count on it changing much.
Enjoy it while it lasts, because who knows how long Dan will consider it necessary...
No. Members randomly popping in to say "This section is dead" or "This section will be closed soon" doesn't mean anything. It hasn't happened in the past several years people have been repeating it and it won't happen anytime soon. There are multiple sections here that have less activity than this one.Quote:

If released and developed here, new server owners would copy them. Very obvious, but it does kill the development in another way.
Back when Flyff was still growing, there were developments everywhere and the developers were crawling around this place (hence why Flyff is still one of the biggest subsections). We'll probably never get back to that, but if multiple people start taking the initiative I think we can be on our way back to that pretty fast!

Also, maybe someones terms of good isn't the same as another's. For example, rebalancing of multiple formulas to change the games balance entirely would be good for one, but for the multitudes of players that want the balancing of how FlyFF is, it is not so great.

People like to keep to themselves, ergo, Ace FlyFF won't release their more unique "unattainable" features. Sure, maps and such can be released, anything that can be decrypted. However, since Jace and Reim developed most of the systems themselves, I doubt we'd ever see anything in terms of the actual systems being released.Quote:

Also there are no collection threads for stuff like custom maps, models or hacks from different servers.
Some of the hacks are forgotten these days and on most server not fixed. If we would have it I think both sides would benefit. ( Server owners and as well players)

Yes, the project wasn't great, but it helped a lot of servers in some way. A dozen of cash shop set releases aren't going to keep this section lively either, but they're something that can lead others into more creative and useful projects.
I think attitude is the first thing we need to change in this section, if that is even possible. An open-minded and sharing mindset is definitely a requisite for a community with active development.
A noticable thing is that recently more old-members started lurking around again so there must be something pulling them towards it; it'd be a shame to waste that opportunity.
I mainly lurk to shutdown overzealous attempts at something people will never achieve. You can't just post a project that you haven't put an hour into and call it a release to goad people into working on it. That kind of behavior is toxic to the community; people will see how projects like that fail and assume all projects will fail. Projects that one or more people put a significant amount of time to, AND THEN RELEASE SOURCE are obviously much more likely to make a successful community project.Quote:
