Norton delets my emu
Hello guys. So when I tried to run a Emulator on my computer Norton AntiVirus deleted the .exe file. This isn't the first time, this has happened to me when I tried to run other emulators also.
The question is: Should I restore the .exe and still run it or shouldn't I trust the emulator?
Thanks

Re: Norton delets my emu
Depends on which emulator you're using. If you got the emulator from this forum, then it's probably safe and you can tell Norton to put it on it's trusted list.

Re: Norton delets my emu
Im using butterfly emulator by Jonteh. I think I got it from here long time ago, im not sure.

Re: Norton delets my emu
If you're not sure, then don't use it. You might want to use one of the more trusting releases from the releases section of this forum. I'm sure Jonteh's release is somewhere here too, if you want to make sure.

Re: Norton delets my emu
Try to upload the exe to virustotal, if you notice that there are more virus scanners that claim it's unsafe don't use it, the exe might have become infected by a virus.

Re: Norton delets my emu
I doubt anyone would upload a infected program as it would mean insta ban.
The reason it is picking it up as unsafe is probably due to it being obfuscated.

Re: Norton delets my emu
When i run the emu then its getting deleted, but when unzip mercury emu astar.dll and the mercury.exe is getting deleted. Idk what to do really.... Im pretty sure Mercury is safe tho, its being used by many people. Should i delete them or ?

Re: Norton delets my emu
Try another virusscanner. If the same problem occures then don't use it.

Re: Norton delets my emu
Indeed, Norton has always been a pain. You could just set exceptions on it so it doesn't scan the emulator folder however. http://community.norton.com/forums/h...der-exceptions
