HK Files - Where was it left off?

Hey guys,

I was reading an old thread where they were working on trying to get the HK files fixed.
and I was just wondering, where did they leave off at?
I was given some HK files, that were "closer" than the ones that were released on here, I mean I can log in, select a server, create my character, but the zones are the only problem.
Sooooo basically I just want to know, other than the people who already have them working, who's gotten the farthest without actually getting them to work? Like where are you at in this?

The zone has always been the issue. You have to figure out the Lua response its looking for and how to get it to the zone. A PHP script is the easiest way. I stopped messing with them. But here is what i do know on how to fix it. In the zone there is an IP address change it to local host(127.0.0.1) write a php script to deliver the response. Name it I think its called GR.php look in the zone it tells you. Add the http address in the zone to your hosts file. In the china files there is a response with them in a txt doc you can use that to figure out and test with. That response is incomplete. So figure out what its missing and what type of encryption its using and you can make em work. Sorry i can be anymore help than that but that's as far as i have gotten with the HK/China files.


EDIT: Or you can pay NextIdea a shit ton of cash and he will most likely sell you the working zone he has. But I wouldn't count on that as it is an assumption.

EDIT2: Oh and the DB's from the China files work with the HK files as they are basically the same files.

Your using the modified Zone. Use the original Zone Ron released here : http://forum.ragezone.com/f591/for-all-961500/ The 1 your using has the DLL, the original Ron released is the 1 you want to toy with.

EDIT: Be fair warned the folder set up on the original Zone is weird as hell. Just follow the folder order in the Zone, it will tell you how to arrange everything. Use WinHex and the Assert error to find out what order it needs to be in.

Hm, in that zone, it gives the assert "Cannot read ServerGroup.txt" even though there's "Villian" in my ServerGroup.txt

Yes that's because the folders and text docs are not in the right locations. That is what i meant by folder arrangements. It's weird on that zone.

If you do get the Zone fixed and running, be fair warned you need to fix some DB issues. Like the age requirement thing. and some other issues. I don't remember all of them.

You still have not got the lua error fixed Kern. Keep trying...............

EDIT: I am gonna say this though, IF any of you guys want to save this game and keep the players your best bet is to get these files figured out. This game is damn near dead. So you only got 1 real shot at it. Don't pull a Stu and try to make an emu of Gamigo. We all know Gamigo sucks. So get after it guys i gave you the info i know. Like i said before the issue is the response. You have to get it figured out, encryption type and whats missing from it and all that. The zone will function with no mods cept to the IP address.

Second problem is the Victus.exe the 2014 exe is packed with the launcher o.O with with older exe i get Disconnect from Login Server ;D

I downloaded the old Victus and mine launches fine.

Wich 3LoginServer2 did you use? also i mean the date.
And how did you connect via a bat?

I used the Login Server that was included in the release.
As for the bat, I didn't use one. Download the Extrinsic Studio Launcher Creator, and create a button.
Set it to launch the client, and pass the argument "-i 127.0.0.1"

Should look something like this:

Open a txt file and type this in:

start Client.exe -i 127.0.0.1

then save it as a bat and your done.

had the wrong client :D bat is easy work iam not new :P

You don't need start within the arguments, just the name of the exe will suffice, followed by the other arguments.
