97d Version - Client Font on 1920 rez

Hello,

few years ago when i had a smaller monitor, running 1360 rez, no HD, i had no problems with the font in the game, but now since i run the game on 1920 full hd monitor, the font is very weird and unreadable.

i tried to do what i know with the Font from Appearance and stuff, but no luck.
doesn't mather at what Rez i run the game or use or not use window mode, the font is the same, ugly and "destroyed"

Any advise? Is the same for everything which has a font, items, text on the screen, so on....

did you try to change the font from client/data/text.bmd?

to be honest, no i didn't tried that.

you mean to replace the text.bmd from another 97d client ?

how do i change the font from text.bmd? my bmd editor doesn't have that.

open text.bmd and search for Arial and change it

there's no "Arial" in Text.bmd, and i used 2 bmd editors. maybe that's the problem? cause is missing? on which line "Arial" should be?

it might be another font so try to find it check windows default fonts and search for them mby

I think is Tahoma....i will select Arial and check to see.

Just find what it is and change it and test, if same maybe u will need to find changing the size number aswell in there

hmm, i don't think i changed in the correct location, cause has no effect in the game no mather the size.
Properties->Appearance->Advance (Not Effect) and i Changed the "Message Box" text to Arial from Tahoma.
And in Effects... i have all boxes checked without "Use large icons" and from the drop lists , i have "Fade Effect" and "Standard".

i dont know about what effects you are talking about mate what files and client are u using ? where u got them from? and what tool you use to edit text? try MUS@Nek tools aswell

ps: mby try using some odbc to change mu resolution correctly to 1920χ!

i use the same windows (original xp sp2 media center) and client (the best clean client ever possible back then) which i had no problems years ago. i have skyteam bmd editor and MUS@Nek tools, and couldn't find no Arial in the text.bmd.

The "Effects" from Appearance was a fix back then, for the font...but it seems has no functionality now.

maybe u can try other client then

Ok, so, i've found the fix, i think it works for every client and season :)
So, Right Click on Desktop, Properties->Appearance->Effects... and where it says "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" uncheck the box, click Ok, and Apply and OK again.

That's it! :D

so its your OS the issue =D in windows 7 that doesnt happen, looks like win xp needs that fix

Yes, perhaps just XP :): but good to know for XP users.
