Need legit and working Microsoft SQL for Windows 7 64 bit
Hello everyone! I've been having troubles finding the right SQL that works for Windows 7. I've downloaded some but I found out that there were a lot of viruses on the ones I've downloaded. I'm planning to setup my own MU Online server but finding the right and legit SQL is my main problem. It would be a great help if anyone could provide me a download link for SQL that works on Windows 7 64 bit.
I also need some tutorials to setup the SQL so if you know some updated tutorials maybe you can post the link here. Thank you! :)

In my opinion there is no ''Legit'' SQL, they are all legit.
for sql 2000 u just google sqleval.exe and there are loads of links.
for sql 2005 the same thing you just need plus the sql management studio .
for sql 2008 if u get the express package u dont need management tools, can also check out my vids here :)

sql 2008 guide on the ex901 video tutorial
sql 2000 on all the rest tutorials =]

Hey there! I have been watching your tutorials even before I posted this thread! So you're that MuOnlineTutorial guy on YouTube? Nice to meet you here. SQL is my problem and I'm not sure which SQL version would be the best to download for Windows 7 64 bit. But I might tryout SQL 2008. I'm trying to setup a Season 1 server, no resets with original MU Online settings.
One noob question, is it possible to host my server ALONE to keep my server online or do I really need someone to host the server for me? Thanks!
Re: Need legit and working Microsoft SQL for Windows 7 64 bit
Well u should use sql 2008 cuz its new and most ppl start to use it aswell so from now on most files releases will require sql 2008 compatibility, although season 1 files dbs usually need atleast sql 2000.
you can host it for urself surely, just use your LanIP in files and client side and thats it

Thank you very much, KarLi. I am currently following your tutorial on setting up a Season 1 server. I'll try setting it up using SQL 2008. I will update you with the results. :)

I'm currently creating ODBC manually but it seems I can't make one because of one problem.

What should I do?
Re: Need legit and working Microsoft SQL for Windows 7 64 bit

Hmm. I don't think so. I have followed a tutorial on installing SQL 2008. I have already created databases and restored everything that needs to be restored. When I tried to run MuServerSetup as admin, it says GSDBSet ODBC Connect fail. :(
Re: Need legit and working Microsoft SQL for Windows 7 64 bit
check my ex901 tutorial how i add Odbc there and do it that way

Try using sql 2000. And making ODBC manually then. And then try running muserverstartup as admin.

I have just discovered that there was a virus on the Season 1 server files you have provided on YouTube. Anyway, I will try your suggestion. Thank you.

Does SQL 2000 have a version for 64 bit? I have downloaded SQL 2000 awhile ago, tried to run it and it says it's not compatible. :(
