Iis + fastcgi?

Many, many people can not configure the good FASTCGI settings, because you need to experiment what is the best for your website/hotel. With 100+ online you have heavy load from traffic if you don't set up fastcgi good, it will take all the cpu and memory usage and will eat your bandwidth within a couple of days.

What is the best configuration you have? or just tips to handle this huge traffics.

At this moment i handle on my hotel with this configuration 80/90 online.

If you have a bigger hotel with a bigger amount online.
I really appreciate want to see how you guys have set your FASTCGI settings.

Why do you still use PHP 5.3 it's really outdated and alot of functions are deprecated in newer versions. I recommend you to use 5.6.x.

@Sir Jamal, Switched over now to 5.6 version. Still the same settings.
Can you share your FASTCGI settings and tell us why is that the best?

@Vimsoration here are some good practices that I also follow.

- Disable IIS Loging.

- HTTP Keep-Alives are good it improves performance and can return content for each request more quickly.
- There are 2 builds of PHP i recommend you to use the non-thread-safe build of PHP with IIS FastCGI.


But if you really want speed speed use Apache PHP module.

Have done the first two steps. i will post a update tonight if it helped or not.

Personally I prefer Nginx, though lighttpd is probably one hell of a server to stream files to (swf's) maybe stuff all your static files on it or nginx and leave PHP itself on apache. IIS is a mess imo, and I love Microsoft's products.

I would argue that comparing how simple it is to configure and set up IIS with PhP compared to Nginx and Apache is day and night. Also, have fun running Nginx on Windows. But if it was a Linux server, I would def use Nginx or Lighttpd.

Also, a side note, I never had to adjust any of these settings for any of those retros I worked on back in the days. It seems like this could be the result of PhP scripts running too slow or a denial of service attack, as we had some issues with PhP zombie processes hanging around after a while. But this is a while ago and much can have changed since then.

Another aprovement is .. When you use iis .

install PHP Manager for IIS and disable all PHP Modules what are you dont need.

example: you use mysql and not https


disable all pdos, mysqli and open_ssl
