[Solved] Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
Finally got online working with a friend, but the friend keeps getting "channel too crowded" and they're always stuck in a "new channel". They also cannot make a boat. But they can see and send whispers.
Any idea how to fix this problem?
I tried reverting to the original heroescontent.db3, but it didn't do anything.
Disabling firewall didn't work, either. Port forwarding seems to be working.
Tried using Vindictus IP Loader and also the Hosts method. No difference.
MMO Channel Service log viewer has this red error:
[MMOChannelService.MMOChannelService][MMOChannelService.MMOChannelService (1560)][JoinChannelProcessor] - Cannot Connect to client(peer) : [636045061615387972 -> 1]
And this yellow thing:
[MMOChannelService.MMOChannelService][MMOChannelService.MMOChannelService (1560)][JoinChannelProcessor] - duplicate join channel waiting members : [636045061615387972 -> 1]
Edit: Seems to be fixed now. I think all I did was reboot my router.
Edit2: It only fixed me connecting from another IP. The friend living elsewhere still has the same problem.
Edit3: Tried connecting via VPN program Evolve. Still the same problem.
Edit4: Now it's not working for any external IPs again. Sigh.
Edit5: Finally got it working. Posted the solution here: http://forum.ragezone.com/f945/tutor...-boat-1110802/

Try Rebooting the Services
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
I rebooted via heroesOpTool when testing if it was the database that caused the problem.
I don't remember if I restarted the services. Will try that and see what happens.
Edit: Tried it. No difference.
Edit2: Tried connecting to myself from another net connection, same problem.
Edit3: Tried changing a bunch of ports in servicecore.dll.config and port forwarding.
No difference.

Disable unnecessary network adapter

Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
Tried disabling network adapters. Also tried editing the database to have less connections. Same problem.
I'm thinking maybe the ping timeout for channels is too low? Because if I can use alternate internet to connect to myself, but my friend in another country can't connect (we normally have no problems) then maybe it's a latency issue.
But they said that marketplace response is immediate. No other noticeable lag issues.
I tried adjusting the channel limits, the ports, etc. Nothing made a difference.
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
Its not a latency issue. Its that you have multiple ip addresses. You have to use a program like Portunnel to bind it ot the correct ip if you have all other network adapters disabled.
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
What exactly do you mean by multiple IP addresses? Could you please elaborate?
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
Same problem....But in LAN work normally.
In core the channels use tcp 27003 <channelrelay tcpPort="27003" logFileName="ChannelProudNet.log">

In your configurations for database 127.0.0.1,1433 did you by any chance changed the ip to anything else such as lan or hamachi? if so keep it the same as 127.0.0.1,1433 worked for me & someone else regarding the channel too crowded stuck in 1 channel error for the other errors that came afterwards i don't know what to tell you, maybe you broke something in the process of trying to fix the first error?
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
No, it's still 127.0.0.1,1433. I didn't change any of the 127.0.0.1.
I tried changing the LAN IP to Evolve's, or my WAN IP. Nothing makes a difference.
I get channel crowded errors even on local sometimes, but if I change channels manually it always fixes.
But if I try using alternate internet or a friend from another country tries to connect, it always gets stuck.
I thought I had it working on my alternate internet, but maybe I was using the LAN internet by accident.
I tried looking into the multiple addresses thing, but I don't really understand it.
I guess the meaning of multiple IPs means, the number of jumps it takes to reach my PC?
And tunneling allows people to connect more directly to my IP?

You have tested other things ?
if you need help to test , you can add me on Evolve , my nickname is Dingobells
you will be able to help me too!
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
I tested everything I could think of.
Only thing I haven't tested is port tunneling, but I'm not sure how I should go about setting it up.

Try to edit hosts.txt with your external ip, also your friend need to do that i had same issue, hopefully i can remember how i did it
Re: Channel too crowded, stuck in "new ch" and can't create boat
Already did that, that's one of the basic steps.
Anyway I've tried everything I could think of and still can't figure it out.
There's nothing helpful about it in the server logs. Just that it can't connect.
