[Odin] Cannot connect to Worldserver (only public)
Heya,
after years went by i again tried to setup a server for a friend and me, just to play a bit around. Server itself runs smooth but cant be accessed from the outside
Things i already did:
- changed all IPs to LAN-IP
- disabled firewall at all
- set whole portrange 8888 to 9999 TCP and UDP to the servermachine
After logging in, my friend gets "cannot connect to worldserver" but i can play (other PC but within local LAN).
Changing IPs to WAN will not work (im sure fiesta dont support IPv6, IPv4 is disabled) due to my ISP.
Any ideas ? (and no, i will not use VPN shit like hamachi !!!)
Maybe using a linux proxy between servermachine and WAN or something ?
Greetings
Zorno

No fiesta does not support IPv6. Second issue is, even if you were able to connect to the zones, Your instances would not function properly. They run on ports in the 12000 range. I do not remember the exact ports. I normally open DMZ in my router to allow all connections. It is much easier that way.

Fiesta runs on range 9000-9130 (originally / could be different for you / last one depends on how many zones you have)
I recommend you to buy a server cause it won't work with IPv6.

I whould do that too but my router doesnt have that option. Also i cant use another one because of hybrid technology. Mobile internet LTE and DSL bridged mode, which is also the reason for just having IPv6.

This is what i want to avoid :D: It makes no sense buying a whole server for just 2 people playing.

Have you try tunngle? it works great!
Re: [Odin] Cannot connect to Worldserver (only public)
This is a long shot, but...
Does your router have the ability to set up PPTP? (Point to Point Tunneling Protocol)
If it does, you can configure your own VPN, more or less. Once connected to the VPN, they can connect as if they were LAN clients. The only downside to configuring your own VPN using PPTP is that it's not as secure as L2TP or SSTP. It uses MSCHAP, but... ehhhhhhh.
Ports for the zones are found in your Server Config folder. This is where the zone servers get their port range from (from what I can tell). With adding a fourth zone for my server, the range begins at 9100 for the world server and ends at 9129 in Zone 4. If you've opened up the port range you found in your server config, this shouldn't be a port redirection issue. This seems like a hardware issue.
From the looks of your explanation, you're tethering your phone for internet? Do you not have an actual stable internet connection? I ask because if your phone is forcing IPv6, and you cannot configure your DMZ, you're fighting an uphill battle.

Nope. Its a stupid Speedport hybrid which is absolutly shit but its the only one i can use with my ISP :/:

Also nope. Its a simple router with a sim card within which connects to the LTE (bit better than HSDPA+) Network. So yes, same like a Handy but limited to just one Antenna. Normally i have standard DSL too (which is why the router is called hybrid) but german Telekom is not getting me connected on my adress, so i just have the LTE atm.
