[Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Hello everyone,
So my boy @Leon got leak threats, so he decided to open up the GitHub repository himself.
Links:
Everything can be found at: https://github.com/LeonHartley/Comet/
Zip file: https://github.com/LeonHartley/Comet/archive/master.zip
Mirror: http://alex-dev.org/archive/Habbo%20...met-master.zip
SWF release:
PRODUCTION-201702211601-24705679
Cracked swf: Comet-2017-swf-crypto
Link to NON-CRACKED swfs:
404 Not Found
(These SWF's are uncracked, I recommend using something like HabBit to crack it yourself).
Everything is pretty much the exact same from the Comet 2016 release thread, except there's been more fixes and features added.
Quote:
Comet Server is a Habbo Hotel game server written in Java. It has been, so far, been tested with over 5000 players on a real retro server and over 20,000 simulated players (still via real TCP connections, loaded from DB etc.. Just not from actual players, they all came from a server).

Nice to see Leon went ahead and open sourced it though, his work is always of the highest quality! Will be a great resource for those looking to get started (hopefully without renaming it..) (after hearing about the leak story, it's a bit mystifying as to why it hasn't been sorted out, come on Leon...)

Other Comet... ¿Camera Working?

Eh, there were two sides to the argument, but yeah. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing some forward progress from the community. It's very well done. Worth working on.

Nope. You have to add it by yourself. If you want a emulator with working camera, try Arcturus Emulator.

Or just add the handlers for Wes's camera server, you'd still need an Arcturus Camera subscription though.

Re: [FINAL] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Good release. I may continue the development of Comet. I did a fork. Sad that all Issue were gone. The contributors and I think Leon himself removed it.
Really a big amount of commits, 2.000+
And many contributors.
Shame that someone leaked it. I really don't know what happened, but it's a shame that this happened.
Good for the community, but not so good for Leon.
I really think that the community will crap it, and do many renames. Like the Brazilian community from some forums. And other communities. We will see many renames of it. It's how this crap community works.
Picks the best and destroys it because of jealous envy.
For @Leon, you did a great job.

To do this, you need to download Coerce and open it as a project in your IDE via the pom.xml file. You then need to open up the 'Core' Maven project and select the install option. Once this is done, Comet will be able to import Coerce and build as it should.

Did you crack the swfs? The SWFs, posted on this thread is uncracked, and might be cracked before it works.

Have you or anyone else had any luck with this? The only way I've been able to successfully connect to the client so far is by disabling RC4 in the SWF. I've had no success using a cracked SWF, tried with the default keys as well as generated keys from HabBit.

Leon sent me this SWF, with crypto support.

Please try it, and report back if it works. :):

No luck with that SWF using HabBit, got the same results as from the one you posted.
However, I downloaded a SWF from a french retro that works with the RC4 encryption - it's the same revision, however images within the SWF do not seem to request to be shown.
SWF with crypto but images aren't working: Comet-Habbix1.swf
Symmetric-key info for Comet-Habbix1.swf:

I've also got a working SWF without the RC4 crypto, which does not have the issue with images that the one above does.
SWF with no crypto: Comet-norc4.swf

That SWF doesn't seem to be cracked, it's identical to the one Quackster just posted.
Edit: Disregard the Habbix SWF, it doesn't have crypto enabled either.

I think there is none. Comet was a licensed emulator, and not a public emulator. So you have to make your own.

Comet is not licensed. Leon is licensed. People hire him as a technician to maintain a good emulator, they don't pay just for the emu.

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Took some screenshots while I was testing to showcase various features available in Comet for those who are interested in using it. I'm sure I missed a whole lot, but here are a few things I found from briefly peeking around the client and the source.

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
It seems I can't use figuredata/map from retroripper and other releases even tho I replaced the figuredata in the Emulator and gamedata so as the Figuremap... but in the client I get (This is not a valid look) or something... cuz I translated it all to Dutch

Did you replace the figuredata file stored in the emulator config folder as well? It uses that figuredata to validate the figure rather than the one in your gamedata SWF folder.
There's also a column called 'player_figure_validation' in the server_configuration table, you can set that to false if you want to disable the validation all together.

Sure thing.
Capture: https://i.gyazo.com/80bf60a30f16de1d...539621255a.mp4
I've not looked at the source for the behaviour of the football but from what I can see the ball always travels 6 spaces ahead of where you kick it, which when kicked close to a wall or in a tight area will continue to bounce back and forth until it reaches 6 spaces it was kicked from. That should be be a quick fix to improve. It also has achievements for scoring goals as shown in the capture

If a small object such as a z-shelf is infront of the ball, the ball will jump over it just like on habbo. You should give it a try! :D

I was having this problem too where the console was getting spammed with SQL related errors to the point where I couldn't scroll up far enough to see them, and it turned out to be that the column 'effectid' in the furniture table just needed to be renamed to 'effect_id'.
There were a few other miscellaneous things I had to add manually that the SQL updates did not have. Here's an empty copy of my Comet database, I haven't ran into any problems with it yet:

Just set flood_bypass = 1 to that rank, wouldn't call it a bug, you're just doing something wrong.

It's nothing special. He just removed "Luck" from the credit page, because I think he was the one who made the threats to leak this emulator.

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
There are some missing tables in the database that comes with it. Does anyone have the complete database? (Yes, I got no errors on running the SQL)

Neither of above are removing credits. He just fixed NPE's.
And no, Luck wasn't threatening anyone to my knowledge.

Here is a "fixed" version with working config, working Habbo.swf and all SQLs.
I've also removed the part where the emulator that nulls SSO Ticket on login and some weird bug with catalog sub pages being sorted by caption and not by 'order_num'.
Wouldn't bother making a new release thread or anything, hope this is appropriate :D:

This is the point of ordering by caption and not order_num.
So that the caption is ordered by a,b,c :):

Why would you remove the nulling for SSO?

Not nulling the SSO ticket afterwards just opens up the server to botting exploits. There's a reason why SSO is called single-sign on.

Hey @Quackster I've compiled all this successfully, no errors. But where is the real .jar for all of it. There is different ones like in Comet.API there is a jar in target > bin and same goes for almost nearly every folder but which is the server itself with all of these in like together, is it in Comet-Server > target > bin | marven is so confusing.
Edit - Nvm I've got it!
The jar is in Comet-Server > target > bin and the libs folder is in there to which I then copied them and the config and configuration folders and made a run.bat, seems to boot perfectly fine:

Edit 2:
Hey @Quackster Is there any reason why Talents won't pop up when pressed in the Me bar, I heard it's a feature on Comet, is it my variables or flash texts? if so could you tell me what to do, please!.

All jars are placed in the /Comet-Server/target/bin directory. Run the Comet-Server-[Version].jar and make sure the "lib" directory is present. Regarding talents; they aren't implemented.

It was private since of the beginning. They only put the repository public for some time by some reasons, That I think they are the excessive amount of leaks.

I'm aware. That doesn't answer the question though.

You don't need permission, so YES!

Yes, I agree most people can set this up.
But we all started somewhere and saying that someone is dumb because they don't have enough "technical" experience, to set this up is just wrong in so many ways.
So next time why not, encourage him to make a tutorial for the people that are willing to learn.

Yes, but those bastards are using it on live/production based websites and are promoting it. When their server is down or something doesnt work, they will instantly spam our forums for help in the wrong section.... Really annoying. Indeed they have to learn, but on their own computer... Not on a dedi or vps... You have to know what ur doing.

You could easily, make RevCMS compatible for comet by changing some values in class.core and class.users :)

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Such a stable server, running now with 1000 onlines.

Or just use Comet-Web? Not sure how complete it is but it seems to have all the basics and some rudimentary housekeeping.

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Would someone mind making a one letter username on their build and testing with a sticky note or any wall item to see if change position/change state works?
Must be one letter, no empty str and nothing more.

Seems very specific why can't you do this yourself?

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
And like always, the developer doesn't give us a SWF pack with it.
Plus Emulator SWF pack? No shit, they suck and there's a lot of missing furni/images/etc (for Comet).

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Using this or Arcturus? Are there any huge differences? Regarding features and bugs. What do you recommend?
Yours sincerely

Comet is no longer updated instead of Arcturus, but both of them have many features and some bugs. You can easily adding features by the Plugin API on Arcturus and wait for updates if you don't know how to fix them.. Comet has a great stability but Arcturus is improved on this point too.. I think it will be more intresting to use Arcturus than Comet for the future (It's my opinion)

Re: [Final] Comet Server [Open-Source, Java, 2017]
Habbo emulation, alive and well in 2017! I bet DominicGunn and his friends at Sulake are very pleased with this stuff.
Interesting to see how feature-loaded this game has gotten... and how features like the camera have been reimplemented in such a radically different way. Horses, snowboarding, totems and sexting tents, oh my!
Just like with the Roseau V1 emulator: archive this server together with the client files and all other dependencies. Keep it safe somewhere for a rainy (and nostalgic) day. Commitments like this are priceless. Well done, Leon!

I know you've been away for a while, but Dom actually left! He works for a company that mostly focuses on grading and attendance software for schools now. Pretty recent development.
Nonetheless, yeh, the features have certainly expanded. For better or worse, most of the new features were just ways to exploit users for more $. Sulake's gotten greedier these last few years. I guess that's why communities like this still exist.
Anyways, welcome back! Glad to see you're still alive.
