Well I am toying with the idea of starting an mmo project .... I know it will not be easy and all the lovley jazz ... but I see no reason to waste the license I have for maya 3d.
So please post what features you like most about mmos or what features you would love to see in an mmo ...
Lots of quests lol.
Lots of monsters to kill that involves grouping ;P
coop quest like in guild wars
well i would like to see alot of races and alot of classes many different waepons (dual waepons) uhmm alot of different armors to uhmm big world with secret spots uhmm dragons u can ride pets
i think i'll stop here i can go on for ages lol
-Pvp = xp is a cool feature you need to make nations and wars.
-Buildings that players can build.
-Descent crafting system.
But that would be to hard for just a small team to do no mater how good they are ><
personal housing system...lot of quests...unique equipment/skills...and sweet races/classes

Grouping: but can solo just not as fast (but not SUPER SLOW)
Quest/Missions
Crafting
PvP
Different armor: so when I'm lvl 20 all other lvl 20s dont have same armor
Custom Characters: face,size,hair ect.
Cool monsters: not gay wolfs and animals
Good Graphics
No Lag
Good fighting system
Good Story
ect.... the perfect GAME!!!
No lag will mean the client ill be huge :P
Or lots of stuff focused on the client :P
-Something else to do then fight other people when I reach highest level. (99) :crash:
-More events (you can never get enoigh of these) :angel_hyp
-Balance classes (unlike alot of games out there):smileysex
so would putting in a merc system like that which is used on guildwars be an acceptable alternative to grouping ?
hmm but guild wars quests are hard if you solo with mercs and i forgot...mounts/taming

What im trying to explain ( with my brilliant paint skills ) is that a mission should always have a sort 'tense'. The line goes up up and up , that indacates that the mission is getting more interesting and fun to play. And when the line goes down its supposed to be climax ... like a city-escape or just a 'defeat-end-boss' mission. i've seen a lot of games that just dont have a story-line.
My conclusion is that the missions/quests must have a normall line. Not that when u start suddenly 50 orcs jump on u and when u defeat them u got to walk 10 km till the end

But there also should be some good magic.... not magic as in flying sparkles doing 500 damage....(tibia) ..... that games the worst addicting but shittty.

The way I have it written out, is there a certain number of guilds ... each guild can give certain skills and certain classes, and each has it's own unique symbol and cape .. and each guild has an item that allows it to use the skills that can be gained from joining that guild ... but if another guild steals the item, the guild that stole it gains those skills while they have the item .. and the guild that lost the item can not use the skills while item is gone .... there will be a 10 hour window every two weeks in which time the item can be stolen ... and the guild that losses the item can take it back after the window, but they still have to steal it back .. and fight the guild guards and guild members that try to stop them

Depends on how you look at it. I was really refering to all the people that dont use the search button and post mu ads in the server ad section. Not ragezone in general, just the few that decide to screw up. sort of my way of saying, use the search button next time or your being generalized in my sig.
What Id like to see in a mmorpg, an indepth player economy. With stocks and a banking system. Sorta like goonzu(sp) but even more indepth.
i would definately like to see an mmo with lots of flexibility for the players to develop their characters eg. having no classes but skill trees where players can choose to diversify their character's abilities or juz specialize...etc. And being able to actually customize your character's appearance too...
This is actually possible on many games..... I think Silk Road is one of them but I can't remember.....Quote:
