[Tutorial] Server Problems? Read Here! (Solution)

1.) Download the 700mb client that moderator karnage has stickied.

2.) after download extract it/ install it

3.) download pandragon's server

4.) setup the sql. (must be sql server 2000, that is compatible w/ xp and eval ver.)

5.) as usual u follow the guide inside pandragon's server files. remember to put rf account on exgame database. (don't forget to double click on odbc reg file)

6.) control panel> admin tools> double click on odbc

7.) check connections of all names listed. check the server and default database.
default database must be exgame

8.) Install east-asian language files

9.) add the text input language = chinese (don't remove english)

your account server, login server, zoneserver, and control server must look like this

notice on zone server the text serviceselfstart port 10001

u must see this on ur zoneserver or u can't see any world after u login.

for lan use:

1.) setup ur sql server first

2.) on odbc change (local) to ur lan ip (ex. 192.168.1.1/192.168.0.1 etc)

3.) there is a topic here 4 port 4warding.

4.) on the .ini files on initialize change all to lan ip of the server

5.) check odbc connections now instead of (local) or ur computer network name type in the ip address of the server on ur lan (ex. 192.168.0.1)

6.) start ur server.

can you upload a working link of sql 2000 because the one i dl at microsoft is fuck up

U should search it in microsoft.com. Read sql operating system cmpatiblity. Im in the province right nw. L8r.

exgame, and rfweb, are restored but the rf_world, rf_account cant restored....
plzz.......

Also..to note something he missed...to use pandragons V5 server...you have to have your harddrives partitioned...cause if you do not have a D: harddrive..it won't restore databases...since he had his media files located there when he created the backups...

whats the different between the 700MB (karnage) and the 250MB (old client)?

why my account.exe is fucking disapered when im opening it

actually karnage's server files are good. but u must find the true accountserver.exe and rename it in "AccountServer"

pandragon's server is a simple version. less exe i min and all that u need. u don't have to find the exact exe. actually if you delete moderator karnage's trash exe's u'l end up w/ pandragon's server files. my example of a trash exe. is ZoneserverSR and ZoneserverR wc/ is buged and can't be use properly.



if your accountserver.exe is shutting down, not opening, and closing after 1 sec or more. it mins you have a prob in your odbc/ you didn't check ur admin odbc if the server your connecting to is the computer name u assigned to your network.

for example my ip for lan is (192.168.1.1) then my network name is LOKI. in my odbc i can directly type in

"Server"="LOKI" instead of 192.168.1.1 , But for safetier reasons just type in 192.168.1.1 ur lan ip or the server ip of ur server.


Notes: If you have any exe's that is shutting down, not opening etc. that mins ur odbc is wrong. No matter what happens u have to touch your odbc that comes w/ the server.

2: Remember the rf account u created in sql should be exgame in the database defaults. and assign database access to each database u created.

Nhed the difference of 700mb and 250mb is the text i thnk. when i chnge my client files for 250mb the text is sort of blurry in my pc (don't knw other comps) 700mb client is recommended.

I am looking at the server files thats in sql. I want to know what should i do to update our clients to rf phillipines version. coz we all want our clients to english and black MAU!

make a new folder for rf_world. coz as much as possible don't overite over a database

u can use a fake drive. read in MU section. I 4got how to set a folder to be a drive.

but remember every time u log in to windows the drive is gone. but its just simple to type in.

yeah im done for odbc its working now my problem now is to connect my client to the server ummm any answer for it??

oh before any thing else guys when im done fixing my server i will post all guides in one thread then peeps can understand clearly im just reading all guides right now and messing around with the files

and hexeditor out there then i can read the rf philippines luncheri think we can mod it to create a english version

chaos_power how to connect my client to my server im lucky i have 7 computer because one of it is fucked up by msql :D

check admin odbc. check rf settings.

also check if the rf account u created if the defualt is "exgame"

what client u downloaded? works great in 700mb client
