How to close zonseserver without crash? Need help.

Now that im getting back in to the RF Server world, i've always had a question.

How do I close the zoneserver without it crashing? Is there a specific way of closing it? Via commands? I've always had this issue. Sometimes with the crashes, the archon spots get messed up or something else goes wrong. Have I been missing a step all this time?
