Ok here we go som1 posted the link to the server files and it looks real this time . Few people are on it now to see if we can get them to work and so on . So if you are intrested in helping out to make an guide and so on on how to setup your welcome to do so .

Ok litle more info the client to use is the one that KARTEFANT/HUMAN and MERKHADIAN/AKKAN started apart i belive . In my opinion the best ryl version ever :) at least as far as i can see it for now

I can't seem to get the RylGameServer, RylChatServer, and the RylUIDServer to run.
If you're able to, would u mind posting the settings u have? I'm not sure how we're supposed
to know what database name to use...

EDIT!! I'm totally stupid.. I didn't extract everything.

As it looks now there still are some files missing some .cpp files if i have it right . So if anyone else get them to work than please post how u did it here :)

Ok, there's not much else I can do at this time without the needed source files. And I'm not a coder, so I can't make them even if I could reverse engineer. lol I went ahead and made a txt file with the needed files and the corresponding app that calls for it. Below is a link to it.

so i thinking thad thad the Server can be Runned by the Same way like MUOnline...

I think RYL Server uses "SQLite" DB, not mssql.

my friend says thad he seen the DB files and he started download and theu deleted..

i tryed and i even cant open properly the links (GameServer, LoginServer ........)

Sould be nice if an pro looked to what we got so far and if we missed things out if it is fixxeble that is the first thing that need to be done i geus .

I was wrong in my assumption before, - only the Manager Server uses an SQLite DB. The Rest uses Oracle DB.

Also, I have setup the files and made a partial DB - howerver we are missing several server files. :( Its very incomplete

ehm...you guyz should start working on 127.0.0.1 :P that's what i did..i'm downloading client now 2 check if the server works. i edited config, edited all IP's into the local IP.

on the RylManageTool it show that the server is running and all...just need 2 check it now :) if it works i'll start editing some shit :)

I still think it needs an db of somekind for the accounts so the server might work but u cant create accounts at least thats what im thinking but when it works for u please tell us what u did and so on so we can go further :)

actually, u got all the DB you need.. those files don't use some sort of SQL or something like that.. you got planty of softwares that makes the acc and shit there...if you'll check
2005.03.03_TW_v542_Server\Release\Script\Server dir, you'll see a file that's called "accounts". in that file the accounts are saved.
there's directories for items and skills and shit.. you don't need any DB.

all i did was getting in 2004.09.06_managetool dir and i combined files ID's...after that you need to start the server files... (in release dir).
that's my problem now cause there's some files that dosen't open...i fixed one of them (ryllogin) but the game server, chat server UID and Auth still won't load..they just pop for a sec and disappear again without working... i'm still working on fixing 'em. after i will i'll upload the files so you can use 'em too.

To everyone who belives they don't use a sql database.

The files require a dabase.. most likly SQL. I was hex editing and looking throught out the files.. they read from tables those that are usually in a sql database. Want to believe other wise? Go ahead. Yes it does put ids of newly registered accounts into a text file.. so what.

So who ever didn't grab the db when you had the chance Good job. :)

And we need to know for shure if the files are complete or not .

P.S rylindo have set back the server file on the temp spot maybee they will make the same mistake again for the DB who knows :)

Ok heres the best I could do on rebuilding some of the database. This is all the tables and fields I could find with hex editing. I can't seem to figure out where the actual account is stored. Maybe it actually reads the ID from account.txt and one of these holds the password or something: FC_GETUID_BYMEMBERID
FC_RYLBL_GETUID_BYMEMBERID i'm not sure I tried my best. Maybe one of you can actually figure out the values of each field and make this into a real database and make it work. Good luck.

Oh yeh and remember skills, items, and monsters are all done via text files so I don't think the database should really have too many tables.

By the way if the other 2 users and me dint place the links there was no dev at all on this files . So in my opinion we deserve some info on how the project is going . Maybee not on the board itself but an PM would be nice to get evry now and then .

For those working on the files keep on going and keep us at least an bit up to date .

I think we all need some info on how the project is going on, not just you..
So that we will not just sit a wait forever without knowing anything about the server..
And if we will know, i think no one will ask all the time when the server will be open or if it is ready..

I know all the leasers wane bee up to date ... But thats not our pproblem is it our problem now is to get them to work and realy there is no need to ask for those file u all just have to w8 for them till they ready .

DONT ASK FOR THE FILES AGAIN HERE .

When they ready and tested they will be released im confidence in that . But i agree an litle update on how its going would be nice for evryone .

Cheers to ya, keep some good tabs, we can ask mental to throw up an RYL section if the database is in good working order. BTW - Ive hosted many many a servers on this site, so if this goes through I can gaurentee Ill put my 5mbit line to good use on here =)

Thanks again and if u need help with ingame testing im glad to help when it is for the 1st real i know most spots there and have an prety good idea how it sould look like and feel .

If it is for the first version of ryl then an other problem comes allong with it ... It is highly sensetive for hacks even speedhacks so maybee som1 can jump into that to make some protection for that .

BY the way, on terms with those speedhacks, the only way that it was stopped was by the first step of constant monitoring of GMs, the game itself cant detect it.. and then later they released a webzen patch which automatically booted/warned people who did it. If any of the admins that are working on the project.. ive got lots and ltos of experience in teh game, and some other ties too (cant tell ya in public) but I know the game very very well... not sure if youll match it exact for exact or try customizing a few thigns here and there.

Hope it looks good in the end, this is one release the entire community is going to enjoy =)

Im not working on Kal lol.

I worked on Kal for 1 day and got fed up because Kal = fuxored.

How about silkroad? I tried it for like.. fifteen minutes, but I had a delay of over 3 seconds. It was impossible to play. Is it any good?

that will also happen to the first private RYL servers i remember those days well on ryl that they go p2p with terble lag isues :) But hey when people play for free they cant complain :) By the way thanx for sticking to the files BoTGoD and for releasing it as well .

Ok guys, we just need to find someone that has experience with Oracle.. So if ya know anyone that could help, please send them here. I believe the database is the only thing that is holding us back from getting this working.

Botgod already told he have DB done i belive or at least som1 said he had an db witch is 200mb .

I would like to know if al is going well and if the server actualy runs and if players can connect to it :)

I was just saying that since it seems that this project is dying, we need do recruit more ppl to work on it. BoTGoD was doing a great job, but he seems to be too busy. Would help so much if we could get as many ppl as possible helping out.
