try autotrader, the used cars section. should be able to get a saxo for that kind of cash god knows the idiots who go up and down the road outside my school can get em, so you should get a car easy.

There was a show i remember watching.... some english show.. (i live in aus..)
It was on the 'How to' channel...
They showed you how to get your very own sports car for 1 thousand pounds...
They got an old (~1980) Porsche 924 - bought for 650pounds and then refurbished it looking very nice for the remaining 350pounds..

I dont think you can get a car for only that much unless a random person is selling it. But you COULD put down that much for a car and pay monthly. My mother put down 1,500 for a little car and pays monthly. Its gonna be my car :D bad part its a ford >.<
Get yourself a VW mate. Great reliable cars. Same quality as a low end BMW/Benz and costs much less. Probally can get yourself a late 90's one for about a grand.
Though if you want a tank then get yourself a used US cop car. Dirt cheap for a 98/99 and thoes crown vics have reinforced frames, heavy duty suspension, performance engine, performance transmission and a shit load of other performance parts. Then again it probally wont fit on the roads in Wales. O.O
