I dont think you do. You get the first month for free and after that you can use the game cards. Guessing here though.
Creditcard or game cards, pick up gamecards at local LAN stores.

I had to activate my game account during registration (14 day free trial thing) so i used my solo card :P
no you dont need an credit card there are like 99999 ways to pay
1:gamecard from store just enter the serail (no credit card needed)
2:Localbank use youre bank acc and they charge it from youre bank
3:Visa/mastercard etc (this are creditcards)

I was planning to buy WoW then save up for a game card while I play the free month.
well when you buy the box there are 4 cd's in it bihind the 3rd 1 in the RIGHT conor is youre serail enter that and you get 1 month free then after that 1 month it will ask for an new serail
