what's the advantage of using TXT or SQL in terms of speed the respond for the client?
Uhm, in terms of speed they're basically the same... SQL is just more organized and more professional. And if your DB get's wiped on SQL you can just recover it... On TXT it's pretty much gone if it's deleted from your recycling bin XD
thanks very helpful...
i currently have Athena TXT installed and whenever i attack, the monster jumps from one place to another. is this spawn problem?
If you're using trunk, it might be an issue with one of the new things in it. I'd suggest switching to stable. (Stables better for new people 'cause there's less bugs and troubles.) Or it might be you're comp is too slow and you don't see the monster moving >.>;
With me sql seemed to have less lag. With txt it had trouble having about 10 people on it at once but on the sql it had no lag at all. I only had 128mb of ram with intel pentium 3 prossessor 2.06ghz so i would choose sql but its a little harder to setup, plus if you choose to have a registration site then you should use sql. This worked on this little amount of ram cause I had the clothes color saving off. When it was on it would lag alot. ok cya
SQL Much faster :p i dont see why people use txt
Noobs use text only 'cause it's easier to set up. I use text just to mess around with things and I can easily delete it all with one stroke of a key >.>;
Im using both - TXT and SQL .But sometimes im thinking that the SQL is too heavy .There is nothing hard but damn work :) .
