zoneservers, gateservers and towerevent
1) I have only what you might call a "feeling" of what a zoneserver is (and im not referring to the "zoneserver" server). Gateservers, well I dunno. Perhaps some1 knows how they work. or at least have a better clue than me.
2) my exact problem is im trying to setup the towerevent. so far I managed to get in using zoneserver zero ... in the mapinfo files, but I wasnt able to see 1 mob to kill, even when the countdown timer went to zero. In the srvinfo.ini I have it set to 4. if I set the mapinfo to 4, i get stuck at the loading screen. setting it to other than 0 or 4 leaves me unable to enter (doesnt try to load at all).
Another point is the battleserver itself. leaked files has 2 battleservers. one named as battleserver and the other as battleservernew. im using the battleserver because the "new" doesnt load at all. it states an error in the ini file, no log and no other f. clue at all to tell me whats wrong. Besides, the "battleserver" dir works with the arena, so I guess I should keep trying with that one.
any ideas?

sorry to revived back old post but any progress on tower, ill try to make the tower works, if i get any result or some info, ill post.....

part of the configuration is like enabling gmita. and part of the story are the related files needed.
this thread was intended to discuss the towerevent as a side effect of the architecture of the server. This is old story to me anyway, since then most part of the nuts and bolts of the server became is clear to me after all the experiments I have done.
As for the tower, I know i have some files missing, but I dont care about the tower, at least for a while.

I did post a lil info about the towerevent sometime in the past. Zaugola have a look at that post and see if it helps you out in anyway..!!

guys....you can find out that there is a diffrence in monster-spawn file.
look at the monster-spawn file of tower and other custom map.
U guys need a patch something like make monsters visible in tower map.

Well I thought of using the client files to fix the server side files though. Not sure if it will work.

so wat u mean is, there is no other way to make that tower works unless we create that file ourself or somebody willing to share it (if only if they have...)?
if that is the situation... then ..... arrggghhhhh...... (cant say it anymore)

Bah..! The solution to tower is pretty simple..
The portal 0 file is missing in most of them. Get that file from someone who has it and define the teleport locations for that portal 0 in your portal index and BINGO..
You are in..!!
