just say this on the news:

Wired News: It Is 'One Small Step for a Man'

people have been been critisizing niel armstrong because when he said "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" what he essentially said was "one small step for mankind, on giant leap for mankind" as apposed to saying "one giant step for a man, one giant leap for mankind".

apparently an australian programmer has run the original recording through a program which picked up that he did indeed say "one small step for A man" which is more gramatically correct to what he was thought to have said.

think of all thoes texts that have to be edited now :|

He was testing a program for mute people to communicate using nerve impulses. Just because he found a mistake, prob found it rather funny, and reported it. It doesnt mean he was bitching about it.

Yeah saw this on the news at 5am yesterday.

it was not the aussie programmer who was bitching about it, hes the one who discovered the "a" in the sentence and hence backs up niel's claims that he did say it correctly - it was other people who were complaining about it being gramatically incorect without the "a"

just goes to show that people are concerned with the wrong shit.

Armstrong clarified the day he got back (or maybe the day after he got out of quarantine, since they had a lot of stuff to do before they could let them go) that he did in fact say A man, and it has been officially documented for decades now that a transmission error cut out the extra syllable. No-one 'found' this recently... :huh:

As for faking the moon landing... does it really matter? We already know the governments of the world lie to us habitually, and there's no real question that it's technologically possible now (and almost definitely was at the time), so really, what is there to be gained from debating that?

There are more proofs against the landing than for it! You should learn to see things from more sides than the one you want it from!

He could've slipped out the ship and shouted 'FUCK' for all I care. Dude was first on the moon, period.
