North Korea is now a Nuclear Power

North Korea plans nuclear test, U.S. calls it threat - washingtonpost.com

Appearently North Korea confirmed that it will be testing its nuclear weapons.
It was supposed to be the Japanese sea, but I don't know the location for sure.
Its appearently blaming the US on everything, and thats why its going ahead with its nuclear program.
Japan, China, and US have ceased trade with the North Korea, and there is no aid being given to them either...

They have refused further six-party talks, and bilateral talks with the US.

A. Iraq - US has no clear evidence that they had WMD, and they haven't found any. Iraq has never stated anything like the N.Koreans. *MINOR THREAT TO US*
-Solution: Go head in and attack Iraq, even after their request to the UN was declined.

B. North Korea - US has clear evidence that they have Nuclear weapons, and have mentioned many times that they are strong enemies of the US, and have blamed the US for all their problems. *HUGE THREAT TO US*
-Solution: First talk with 4 other nations about N.Korea stopping its nuke program. Then ask the UN to do something about it.

They been saying that they are going to do it for ages now.

Kind of a shock to see China side with the USA on it and now refusing to aid North Korea.

They must be mad men in that country. They want nukes but at what expensese? Don't they see how stupid it is? By making them they loose all of their allies, and then by testing them they are going to make their allies their enemies. Is that stupid or what?

Do they really think it's going to make them feared? Being able to make 8 big bombs? Do they think they are going to force super powers like the US, Russia, and China into submission when each of thoes countries have enough nukes to level the entire planet? Do they really think that they will scare away the south Korean's and Jap's from the area even though they are back by the super powers?

Really now? How stupid could they be? Especially when you have a war crazied president leading the USA. Didn't they think about the fact that the US has never tried to invade their country because of China and now by doing this they no longer have protection but another enemy?

What do they think they will get from it? Threating to nuke the super powers and to give it to the Muslim extremists in order to attain great power? What ever they are planning it's just going to get them all killed.

Don't the realise by continuing this will only send them down a path of distruction? Don't they realise they have just started a count down timmer until the UN forces cross over the Southern boarder and a Chinese Russian force cross over the northern boarder? Then what are they going to do with thoes 8 big bombs of thiers? Make themselves go boom?

The thing is that most people are predicting a chain reaction now.

Japan will start its own nuclear program and anti-air missiles to defend themselves from North Korea.
Then China might be getting worried over Japan, and then the things might progress like that.

But definetely not a smart move on the Koreans to stand up to the giants.
The banks won't loan money, it will be financially screwed, and then the imports will seize. It's basically what they did to Germany after world war one.

It will have 10 nukes or however many it can make, then its people will starve, people will be even more poor. But it will have 10 nukes..?

With the US anti-air missiles the nukes won't make it anywhere, especially near japan since US and Japan are closer allies after the new PM came up.

Iraq wasn't actually invaded on the grounds of WMD. The whole WMD thing was to convince the US citizens that the Iraq war is going to be a just thing. It's much easier to lie to everyone telling them to invade Iraq because of WMD's then to tell them "Hey everyone, we need to go into Iraq and force them to sell Oil in dollars again because they changed it to Euros and now the country is loosing billions of dollars every year in income!"

Iraq was invaded for the sole purpose of oil. Oil is sold in dollars. Which forces other countries to trade with the us to get the dollars and then forces the compines to give the dollars back to American banks.

Since Iraq changed from selling in dollars to Euros, it fucked up the US's way of making money so they had to do something or else more countries would follow and the US would take a hit harder then they did back in the 1930's.

What you don't under stand is the US couldn't do anything about N Korea. Have you taken 20th centuary history? If you have you would have known about the large UN invasion force that entered Korea shortly after the second world war. They fought to take over Korea from the communists (now North Korea) but never managed to do it because of one reason. That reason was communists allies (China) got involved. And if you know anything about China is that they have a large population and they can send not thousands but millions of troops into the battle field. So the UN forces was totally overwhelmed and they had to pull back to the south. That is why there is a North and a South Korea.

So with that known, now do you see why the US can't forcefully make N Korea do anything? Korea would be easier to take over and control then Iraq is on their own but the problem is China. If the US were to step over the boarder they would not have to deal with the weak nation of N Korea but they would have to deal with the largest army in the world. It would end in a more bloody and longer war then Vietnam and WWII would ever been.

Now seeing that the relations with N Korea and China are no longer good you might just see Korea be taken over by the UN and other countries, but even then it won't be WWIII for that is the Middle East and going to be full scale when Iran pulls the same stunt as N Korea is right now.

You do realise Japan already posses nuclear technology? They don't have nuclear weapons since they are banned from it so they wont be of any threat to start something.

Also China has no worries over other countries with nuke. If they did then they would have done something about all the nukes that the US has in S Korea and Japan already.

I take it you don't know much about N Korea. They spend 100% of their resources into the military. They have no care about their people at all. Most of the people in poor countries are better then the people in N Korea.

Bassicaly there you have two choices. Be in the millitary and be poor and hungry or not be in the millitary but instead work you ass off 20 hours a day 7 days a week to provide not for yourself but for the milltiary.

That made me laugh. Do you even know what a ballistic missile is? It's an evil missile that the Germans developed in WWII. What made it so evil is the fact that it's nearly impossible to actually shoot down. How they work is they are lauched into space. Yes that's right space. Then cruise at high speeds until they are over their target and then come back down at extream speeds.

The Patriot missile defence that the US developed would never be able to shoot down a ballistic missile comming at it because the ballistic missile would be too fast for the counter missile to actually hit it. Sure they are good with scuds and other types of surface to surface and air to surface weapons but against an ICBM (ballistic missile) it's totally useless. Why else would the US be spending billions of dollars developing an ICBM defence in outerspace to distroy them when they already have the Patriot?

Also even if a Patriot could shoot down an ICBM it would be too late to do any good. At the max rang the Patriot can distroy it, it still wouldn't be far enough to avoid the nuclear fall out. Heck that would be a plus to the nuke it self since they are more effective being detonated in the air then over land at it spreads out more fall out like that. Resulting in even more deaths.

Communication? You think telecom companies would have spent the billions upon billions of dollars that the US and other super powers did to develop computers? I think not. They don't have the resources nor the will to do it.

The thriving need that sparks inovation of humans is not the need of something to make life easier but the need to make something more efficient in killing one another. Really that's how it is.

Humans are the only real creature on this planet that thrives on killing each other. There is nothing else here that does it. And with this urge of killing one another comes the need for technology. Not to make life easier but to make killing easier. It is that sole purpose that drives humans to devlope new technologies even faster. The only reason why we get things to make life easier is that once we found a way of killing better we also learn we can use it for other purposes.

Their is only one real way to make more energy more efficient then nuclear energy and that is fusion energy.

Don't kid yourself by saying we would use the energy of the planet. This aint FFVII and there's no life stream down there. The ammount of energy that the earth produce is no where near that of the ammount of energy that is produced by nuclear power.

Sure it's being continusly produced and would require no effort in making it but the problem is that the though of it is totally inefficient. You would have to drill milles under the surface of the earth just to get to where you'll get enough heat to use. That alone would take years upon years to do and then to make any gains from it would take even longer then it did to even begin.

Then you have to think about nuclear power. It's safe and clean compared to fossile fuels and produce vastly more power then they do with less effort. The only by product of it is small ammounts of radioactive waist that is easly taken care of. Unlike fossile fuels which produce tons of deadly gasses that also causes the temp of the planet to rise.

So outside of nuclear power there isn't anythign more efficent then fussion. Which is not as simple to do. Which will also be the most powerful weapon that man can ever make. A bomb that can not only distroy a city but wipe the entire country off the planet or even worse. The planet all together.

But even then. The benifits of fussion would be tremendous. An unlimited source of power. Not just that but give us the necessary power to venture out into space and who knows what technologies will come from it.

What nonsence you are talking about. The first atomic bomb was 28 kilotons. Now they are up to 10 mega tons. And could 1 bomb take out the world? Not at all.

Though if it was set off in the jet stream it would spread radiation though out the plannet but even then it's not going to go that far. Maybe 1/20th of the planet at most. And that's with a 10 mega ton bomb being blown up 5 miles above the surface.

Also if a 10 mega ton bomb was dropped on NYC all of NYC would be gone. 2 miles of the blast would be turned to dust and up to 30 miles away would be scorced and then the radiation would go about 100 miles from the blast. Though it would only be harmful up to about 70-80 miles. The next 20 or so miles the normal radiation ammout would go up slightly but not into the deadly harmful range.

So with taht in mind there's 16 million people int eh NYC area. SO they all would eventually die aside a few thousand living but with bad radiation poisoning. Then say about another 5 million people in the range would get radiation poisoning.

Where did you get the 100k of russian people who died? It was the Japs. I belive one bomb killed up to 100k and the other bomb killed up to 150k of people by the end of the year. Most was from radiation and at the time tehre wasn't a treatment for it. I might be wrong and the entire total would be 150k. I'm not to sure at the moment as I haven't researched this topic in a few years.

And may I ask you how do you justify saying "people had died for the greedy of some people." Do you know why US dropped the bombs on Japan? It wasn't because of the US's greed. It wasn't that at all. It was because of Japan's pride and their determination to never give up fighting. If they didn't drop the bombs the war would have went on for about another 2 years. In thoes two years it was estimated that the US would loose 1 million men and Japan up near 5 million (not to sure about the Japanese number but I think it's around 5). And with the Japanese it would be men, women, and childern also just like with the bombs. When you do a carpet bomb on a city you will be killing everyone and not just soilders.

So what could the US do? They made 3 bombs powerful enough to take out an entire city. They tested one and to their supirse it was more powerful then they had immagine. So what to do? Use the remaining two bombs as a way to force the Japanses into submission by taking out two cities and killing a few hunderd thousand people or continue the war and have millions of people die in the processes?

Now think about it? What would you choose? End the war now by killing a a fraction of the people that are estimated to die or continue with the war and kill the whole lot of them?

I know that I would choose to nuke them.
