hypnotized

Well all people say hypnotising is bullshit, I'm the living proof. Yesterday me and my mates went to a hypnotizing show. First he explained where hypnotizing is used for, for example curing phobia's and such. Then he asked if volunteers wanted to come up to the stage, so I was like yeah why not? He then asked to dim all the lights. After that that he switched on a bright red light and asked us to stand as still as we could and look in the lamp.he then started to count down from 5 to 1, Saying that with every count our limbs got heavier, and getting sleepier. Well after the thirth count I dont remember a thing. But appearantly he said we were in a dessert and there was this extremely delicious aple in front of us, He told us to reach for it and instead of an aple he gave us a piece of lemon. And hynpotized as we were we ate all of it (It was fucking disgusting when I woke up) Then he guided us to a seat and told us to go sit. He then told us that we were in a bus and that it was riding in a bad road and that it shoke like hell. So we were all shaking like retards on our chairs. We then drove to a cinema and watched a movie that was appearantly extremely funny. And we laughed our asses of when he said the word "custard". After that he told us that we were in a ferrari and passed the bus we were just in. And appearantly everyone was waving and I was the onlyone who gave them the finger >.> But it gave out a good laugh for the crowd.

Other things that happend were calling with someones foot, thinking we were Venus if you were a girl and Amor if you were boy. washing your crotch infront of the crowd (with your clothes on)

But really I can recommend these kind of shows because from what I have heard it is fucking hilarious.

Hypnosis only works on weak minds; a friend of my mother's, whom was supposedly a "professional" hypnotist attempted it on me, but, well, it didn't work.

No. It doesn't matter if your weak minded or not. What counts is if you want to be hypnotized or not. But it doesn't work on people who schizofrenimania(spell?), insomnia, use psychofarms (pills).

and sounds fun pie, seen a few hypnotism shows on TV and they looked really real + cool :P

Sounds fun, I missed a hypnotist at one of our football presentations, but it was meant to be hilarious. I'd like for someone to try it out on me, I want to see for myself if it works or not.

well you dont remember alot of it, you only remember small bits and pieces, but waking up is the worst part. I had a guy next to me. And it was like this:

hypnotism does indeed exist, but when you are hypnotized your body is in a state of complete relaxation but your mind is fully awake and certainly aware of what is going on

if you were really hypnotised then you certainly wouldnt have been able to move and you would have remembered the whole thing, ive been involved with hypnotism for the best part of 4 years now and what you have experienced is not hypnotism, its "stage hypnotism" you were just behaving the way you were expected to, whether you where aware of it or not is a different matter completely

hypnotism is a coined word anyway, even people like paul mckenna have admitted in the past that what they do is stage hypnotism although you still find many many people buying into it

It has been around for centuries, the best explanation i've heard is that when you are under the influence of the person, you are in a "suggestive" state of mind, meaning that you are more open to suggestions.
Thats why they can help phobias, people losing weight, people with smoking issues, depression etc.

Holy shit! Same thing happend to my mum, he did this thing where you have to close your eyes and in 1 hand you have a baloon and in the other you have a led weight. Then he came and put a mark on my mums hand and she went on stage. He put these lights on and he had them danceing around slapping their legs with laughter then motionless. It was really amazing, and there was around 20 people on stage and im sorry but my mum wouldn't put that on. I really want that done to me...

aye thats right, can be used for all kinds of things

but its also worth mentioning that everything that can be done with it can also be done without it, its just a good way of focusing on your intent

like pie did say though you do have to want to be hypnotized for it to work, if you arnt comfortable with it or if you simply dont want it to happen then it wont as you will be unable to get into the required relaxed state

aye thats 1 of the common tests that stage hypnotists do to see whos more willing to do as theyre told

they are looking for the people who are most likely to either use their strong imagination on stage or those who are just going to be willing to do as they are told, another common one is getting people to picture their hands stuck together with glue and seeing who doesnt bring their hands apart

those "specially" selected from the group are much safer to go on stage with as with their personailty traits + the pressure of being on stage makes them much easier to manipulate, its simple psychology
