Make my site

hi everyone!
my server is near to finish, only need the rank and clan...
but for this i need make my own site...
ive tried many editors like Dreamweaver, Smart FTP, AppServ, Apache, MySQL, PHP Editor...
but all of them ask me for put a Username and Passwd but i dont know where i can get it (this on Smart FTP)
so, i heard ppl asking me to host the site on my computer but how? itll be like this http://myip/ (my case http://192.168.1.2 )

does anyone know how i do it? if i need some program pls say the name and a like to download...

first of all, Smart FTP, AppServ, Apache, MySQL aren't EDITORS of any kind.
moreover, I don't think anyone will ever post you the exact guide how to do that, because that's way too much of stuff on the whole. making&hosting a site is not of 'unpack and run' kind. I suggest learning some website making/hosting tutorials on the net

for making/running/hosting website you usually use all those tools, but for making one you will need Dreameaver and PHP or ASP coding skills (else you cannot make 'account creation' and other interaction with game server).

I would suggest learning PHP meher. It isn't a rough learning curve and has all the functionality you will need for doing registration. I would suggest searching the web for ebooks and simple function tutorials. Once you get the hang of the basics seriously try "goofing around" with what you picked up and you will realize you can do quite a bit. Good Luck

im using the apache for aspx but i never find script for clan or registratiom with aspx...
do u know abt apache with asp,php and aspx? (or asp or php its ok ^^)

that's no the thing could be told about. it's programming, few words isn't enough for understanding them..

ive bought the sp2 cd to use the iis... i made the site here its work with http://192.168.1.2/login.asp ...
but how do i make other people see it?

find out your external IP if you got it and point them there http://{external_ip}/login.asp.
if you don't have an external IP, you will not be able to host it

for example my website is .:|- PT.IPHICLES -|:. look at the url and you will see what i mean. i use no-ip DUC to host it on my comp. to see what your IP is use What Is My IP Address? - Dedicated to IP address discussion and i dunno but, i opened my ports, so u might wonna open yours too. but im not sure if i even HAD to. better to be safe then sorry. add me to msn Aaron_Lewis_Russell@msn.com if u need any help on setting up your website.

fyi that site is my server site, but ive been having alot of troubles lately. main one is "unable to connec tot server"

I wouldn't use apache for this since it doesn't support ASP very well lol
You'll need winse or xppro to use IIS which is microsoft's "Internet Information System"

Then if you're behind a router just foward port 80 to in your case "92.168.1.2"
Then you can type in your WAN ip and and anyone can see your site

But if you don't know all this I would suggest you learn some more before starting a large server, unless this is a server for just you and your friends.

All you're really going to need for this is:

some skill in coding and sql
