I decided to get a 360 for various reasons, I have a lot of questions before I get one.
UK has taxes up our ass and they're quite high, so it makes the price of the priemium package high, what if I was to buy the console from US with different games, would that be a problem ?
Is 360 a region free console, meaning pal, ntsc game will work?
will I be able to use my live even tho im in UK and the console is from the US?

I thought the XBox 360 was cheaper in the UK then it was in the US?.

Xbox live, I don't think it matters which version you use.
My advice would be to stick with the UK because price wise, not much difference also UK has had a price drop on the 360 Console, the US hasn't. Since not all games are region free too, stick with the UK.
maybe wait a few weeks till the wii is out, thats sure to bring the 360's price down (over here the 360 is over $100 more than the release price of the wii).
I doubt the actual price of the 360 will decrease that much but im sure u will be able to get some nifty deals at that stage that would safe u money

First off this is a good price considdering what your getting.
Also I own about 11 xbox 360 games and none of them are region coded unlike the PSP which has region stickers but is still region free? Anyways i'm slowly drifting off, there has been alot of people saying that there xbox live wouldnt work because they bought there xbox from a different country, although this was a few months ago and may not be the case any longer. Still worth checking it out though! Hope to see you on XBL a.s.a.p !

Xbox Live is based on a renewable licence (like a pay-as-you-go phone network) so you can use it anywhere in the world, regardless where you purchased the online gold/silver priveleges. My console was from Japan and it works just fine.

it depends what games you play... example USA have college hoops and NCAA football.. UK consoles cant play them but they can play our exclusive football manager 2006 as its region free.

Kitten's right Sip. The UK version will end up cheaper. They was more money for a while but they had a price drop in the UK. Now you can get the system for the same price as the US version including the VAT. So you are looking at 200 pounds in the shop there or ordering one from the US at $400 and then having to pay a $60 shipping fee and then have to worry about getting a power plug.
Best bet is just getting it from the UK. Now for games. Most of the US games are cheaper. At $60 Vs 50 pounds. That's a big difference there. Just head on over to wekepedia and look up which games are region free between the NA and EU version. As that's where the savings will be.
Live doesn't matter either. Its the same on all versions. So no worry on that at all.
Also the DVD region locking will still apply on the system. So a NA will be Region 1 and the EU will be Region 2. You can also get around that buy just buying a HD DVD player from one of the other regions to play it's DVD's.
ALso make sure you buy yourself some charge kits. You'll need them as the cost of replacing batteries all the time is more then the few bucks for some charge kits. ;)
