MySQL 5.0 Auth error, please help

ok im trying to set up the "Complete MANGOS Website Package" and all went good up until i connected to the site and on every page i have this error:

Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client.


im running MySQL 5.0 and the only help i found was from the SQL homepage where it talks about this problem arising when u update from using an older client and using same password.. but this is the first version of MySQL ive ever had running on this computer

thus that was of no help to me..

so anyone who got this error and can fix it.. help would be much appreciated :)

well if fixed the problem so this can be closed :)

Hey how'd you fix it I sometimes get this error too....

removed all my other apache related software and installed Xampp
and immediately the error was gone
