ODBC Problem

I have made my server before, but a problem with my Hard Drive and i had to buy a new one, so my servers gone. But now im having a problem at the ODBC's. I will add a new SQL server, name it c8master, choose my server, and i will get his error. SQL SERVER ERROR 53. ODBC SQL SERVER DRIVER, NAMED PIPES, CONNECTIONOPEN, CONNECTION FAILED: SQL SERVER ERROR 17, ODBC SQL SERVER DRIVER, NAMED PIPES, SQL SERVER DOES NOT EXIST OR ACCESS DENIED. I have finished all my sqls, so the server exists. and i know i have access, so any help

When inputingthe server name did you do ServerName or ServerName\SQLEXPRESS

i did SERVERNAME and SERVERNAME\EXPRESS, not SQLEXPRESS
