Wondering if Anybody could check this out for me?

Hey, my bro has been working on hes own emulator for quite a while (1 & 1/2 yrs) and last week, he was in a Motorcyle accident, and was sadly killed, anyway, I still have hes emulator files, and I wanted to share what I have. Sounds silly, but I dunno how to use them, and I just don't have time. I've never touched the files them self pre-accident, so I don't know how to get them to work or anything, only played on the server. But this is what I know about the server:

Features:
-Standalone (means no 3rd party SQL server needed)
-Highly compressed files (5.36mB total, with DBCs, with maps, with .MPQs)
-Most AI is working (casters cast, spiders posion, etc)
-Stable (crashes very very rarely)
-Normilized AP ([most] everything is based around AP [like blizzard])
-Works with 2.0.5 & TBC (latest)
-Outlands works, but with no spawns
-Flying Mounts work, but a bit buggy (causes crashes client if you go too high)
-Instances work and are fully spawned (no bosscripts)
-Spell Damage
-Attack Power
-99.9% of spells work (Charge, Frost Nova, Fear, Polymorph, Totems, Druid Forms, etc)
-Crit %s
-Slash commands (no .command bullcrap [needs some client addon, dunno where to find it, but I'm searching])
-Weather
-Really low ping (always 1-2 digits for me, even with 50+ people on)
-Flight Paths
-Combat System (enter combat, leaving combat, etc)
-Very low CPU usage
-Fully working website
-Addons working
-Warden working (blizzard like)
-Full backups in less than a second
-Trainers fully working (warlock's pets are buggy tho, just relog and it will fix its self after training your pet)
Disadvantages:
-Not really configurable, besides /configuration folder
-No boss scripts (there is AI, just not bosscripts [maybe somebody can write some, who knows])
-The TBC weapons / armor don't work (no models)
-Not open source
-Server takes about a minute to boot
-Doesn't work with a router (from what I can tell)
-Log files take up alot of space (100mB+ in a matter of days)
-The server crashes if you have Skypre open (dunno why)

hey all, first post but been with ragezone for ages, i have a TBC which works almost perfectly, i designed myself, most mobs included and spells/armour work, but this looks way more interesting

Me 2 it have somthing to do with the consoles window size i belive or with screen res :(

the server starts for me and loads everything with out any errors. gonna go and update one of my game folders and try logging into it.

Well it could get in handy if the maker of this post could also his bros source files so we can develop it further maybee make it open sorce to get things done on them ;) But when it is that good it might not even need to be working on :)

Ok. I am stumped. I have been messing around with this server for a while and I just can't log in. When I use the 2.0.5 client I get the message unable to connect. I also tried 1.12.1 client too. When I use that one it goes to connecting for a few secs and then I get a server disconnected message.
I am using "set realmlist 127.0.0.1" in my realmlist.wtf file.

It's too bad that the website mentioned in the console http://www.eg-server.com/myemu gives a 404.

Anyone else have any luck?

hey all, it seems that seeing as the server wasnt open source, the site that the server was from "eg-server", doesnt wanna share there emu, becuz the forum doesnt have file downloads, but all you need to do is try make something to manipulate his compressed files, or his DBC, so u can make new accounts, or get the "brother" who made the post to tell u his account name on the server

hey, doesnt work i tried it, i tried alot of things and none of the predictable answers logins work, its gonna be harder, we need some hardcore coders to lookat this thing

Is it based off Mangos? Why don't you release your code?

mainly because it runs off the beta build and im waiting for an official release becuz most of my data isnt based off official servers, just random stuff ive peiced together, maybe sooner or later if things dont get any better il release, but so far i havent had any luck working on other pcs, its based on mangos yes, but just wait for an official release, itll be there sooner or later

I haven't tried this thing out yet, but I smell something fishy here, did anyone but me notice that the timestamps on some of those files in the screenshot are the 20th? The day it was posted.... and I also notice he says it doesn't use MySQL, but it obviously does, from what i see in the screenshot.

I opened the zip and inspected the exe, it was made in Visual Basic...

The dlls look very suspect too, and many of them have " W i n d o w s L i v e O n e C a r e " all over them, they appear to be renamed vista dlls or something.

I hope this is a fake only and not also a trojan installer or something, for those of you who actually ran it.

my server build has no relation whatsoever to this "myemu" thing, i want this thing to work just as much as u, my server only work on 2.0.2 build of TBC!, please someone work this, ive restarted my pc and run alot of tests, im fairly certain that its not a trojan installer, cuz i ran it a few times, but the site for the "eeg-server" is dead, seemingly because the creator died

thats ok, but i still reckon its worth checkin out, someone tel teh admins of the forum or some good coders, il tell u if i see anything weird goin on on my pc in the next few days that suggest viral infection
