cool!
looked more like a mutated eel tho...
or faked...
anyway, cool!
also grats at 19k posts mental O.o
Saw that thing on the news.
Seems it died 2 hours later.
That thing looked old, wonder how old it is.
I want one for my fishtank :O One of the coolest fishes imo!
eek! cool, but slightly freaky ><
check it out here too
BBC NEWS | News Front Page
down a little on the left, it tells u a little about it, freaky looking thing
"Lives around depths of 600 meters"
Teh holy craps
What if theres more creatures in the deeper water :X!?
damn i want a prehistoric dino lol
What do you mean "What if..." obviously there is creatures humans have never seen down below, and never will see. There is too much pressure down there, you went out, and you would be flattened like a pan cake.
Godzilla!
Looks like a shark mated with an eel.
Saying we wont ever see animals living under high pressure is wrong, we could easily use cameras/infrared cameras to see in the darkness.
w/e i'll just w8 till i get hitted by somekind of meteor and then it would get me super power ^^
Then i will go check it myself!
aye but its not like they are just gonna be lying on a flat seabed... underwater caves ect is where they are gonna most likely be (if they weren't, then we would already have seen them).
check what?
do you know every sea species off by heart?
if you see a certain fish, how would you know if its already been sighted?
no, you wouldn't.
We already have underwater subs, as that tech progresses and gets smaller im sure they will be small enough and menuverable enough to enter caves. Lets face it the only way were going to fully explore the ocean is with robots, the space it would take for a human in a sub would mean the ship itself would have to be big, too big to enter the cave.
saw it on news :)
they took it to a tank and it died :(
Awesome thing, makes you wonder what else is lurking at the bottom of the Ocean.
It would be better if it was bigger :)
retarded shark ^^. lol.. didn't looked like fake allthough the first thing that came in my mind was.. fake ?
Its a Chlamydoselachus anguineus aka Frilled Shark.
The funny part is that they aren't considered extinct, more like near threatened.
cool ^_^
freaky looking shark but tis cool that it's around.
It looks awesome, makes me wonder what other mysterious creatures are in the deep waters...
Cool, next they will find pickatchu at 5 milles under the ocean xD
Well there are even new animals and insects found evry day on land so it will be a while for water ^^
it seems after the tsunami, all kinds of things come up that we didnt even know about,
this might be just one of the extra things that still live at the bottom of the ocean?
or even there coukd be more?
Heh my Biology teach does this "Science News" thing at the end of every week. It's basically showing us new discoveries around the world today, instead of in a book where things don't really update lol
This was one of the things she showed us today. It was the best of what she showed us heh
Yah we knew it existed but we've never seen one alive before, similar to the giant squid (but we've seen it too now)
And yes it did come from deep in the ocean, I forget the depth we believe it lives at though
Yah they just discovered another squirrel type thingy too ^_^
It was also on our "Science News" lol It's named after some woman with Brown in her name lol it's a really simple name
woah thats rly frky..those gills made me quezy
Just because something is prehistoric doesnt mean its extinct, Crocodiles are technically prehistoric and they're not extinct, just means animals that have lived longer than documentation states. ie pre history, does actually say that on the BBC report on it, that they live 600m under water, can't really state whether they're near threatened or anything, as we have no information on them at all as they live outside of our reachable depths etc.
Amazing Creature though, pure fascination. I love scuba diving and stuff like that just makes it more interesting.
Strange to think A creature like that has lived longer than any species on the land that ever existed, before we even began evolving that thing was probably doing its thing. Can't wait till we can explore the great depths of the Oceans to see just what other stuff lives down there, after seeing some of the giant squid that are about is amazing... (thinks about that time they cut open a whale to find a giant squid in it, and in the giant squid they found a dolphin lawl)
LoL, Awesome creature! Looks more like a very big eel than a shark. Hell, it didn't really have any teeth at all!
Well, I guess if it was on the news and stuff so it's probably a real thing.
Cool , i didn't know youtube has the video....
Yup, saw the shark on the news and sad to hear that it dies after this video was taken..
career change!! whats it called when you look for new animals =D
just found another link here
They probably scared the shit out of it, while filming and gave it a heart attack.
Wow, that's amazing how stuff like that happens. It's like those scientists' footage of the giant squid. Simply Remarkable.
Got there before me except my post would of been, they'll take it out and try to "preserve it" and it'll die. People don't learn. http://cellar.org/2005/largestfish.jpg owned..
holly crap is that real? lol. i never heard about that.
