Note: for non-router users, all you need is Global IP. Your Lan/Local Ip is the same with your Global Ip
IP Legend:
Global Ip can be obtain Here(WhatIsMyIp)
Lan/Local Ip can be obtain by "Click Start>Run> type in CMD and press OK> Type in IpConfig then press enter."
Ok, lets start with ConnectServer.
Open up CS\Connectserverlist.dat
You will see:

Explaination:
The 1st digit is the server code. Serverinfo.dat required it to communicate so that it will allow users to see the server bar.
The Servername also required by ServerInfo.dat(not really but you need to fill in the correct info to prevent error)
Now do this in CS\Data Connectserverlist.dat and ServerList.dat
ServerInfo.dat in CS folder is use for Auto update using FTP. So thats unnecessary. Lets proceed.

Router Config.
The Joinserver can use Lan IP.
The Gameserver need to use Global IP.
MapServerInfo.dat need to use Global IP.
Also to enter the server on the Lan PCs you need to put a mask.
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host

this guide is different from Gl@dius release.
in this guide, we use default port, not custom port.
to connect, use 44405 port not 50000

Question and Problem
Can I use MuServer Startup to start the links ?
Also, I've done everything like the guide said
But when I start the links, the Data Server 1 takes forever to run and it isn't going anywhere ?

im having a problem, i can connect nicely but my friend not.
were on hamachi and hes connecing with the ip shown in hamachi.
port 44405 gets disconnected right after clicking the server but
port 55903 lets him stay on for a minute and then gets DC, whats the problem?

Looks like a great guide! I'll try it when I get home, but in the meantime, I have some questions, if you could please reply, =).
1) Can I just set this up and play locally? Bad internet at home, and my 97b server runs fine locally using local ips.
2) Do I need the patch at the site you linked to a few posts earlier?
3) To modify items, I know I can use text.bmd to edit their names, but when I edit item.bmd and save it (I make backups though, lol) is that all I need to do? In my 97b server it seems to fail doing both..
4) In connectserverlist.dat, where it says servername, if my server is default called (local)/WINDOWS NT would the server name be (local), or just local? I'm just thinking the (brackets, ^^) might make the cs have problems..

I've got the server up and running, but I've yet to hax the GS.exe. It calls it [FuryMU] in the descriptive title (you know, like the title of this forum is in alignment with the X button, and maximise, etc...), and I don't know how to hex the GS to have my ip in it - if that's what I need. I did everything to the letter, but Liselotte - the client you posted earlier doesn't seem to show my server. Do I need to hex main.exe, and if so, how? Also, both launchers you've included don't work for me, and the 'Uniques Launcher' doesn't connect to my cs after an internet explorer window opens, and I cancel it - 'cause I'm running MU locally. I know the CS is fine, because all the links connected correctly. It just seems to say disconnected as soon as the server selection screen appears. Oh yeah, I'm using my local ip (127.0.0.1) for all the IP's because its just a local server. Is that the problem? Can this MU only connect to the global IP, and not locally? If so I'll try 99b next. Please try and help please, =).

liselotte, I have a few questions before I get started, the download link in the tutorial post is dead, however your server file you have in your signature, does that work well?
And the Mu Server StartUP, does it work on 1,02K? I like it a lot, cause it's not as annoying.

serverinfo is where you put the server code, and the server name, for the serverlist, it should the same with connectserverlist

you must use the wrong port, if your server use code 0 and the code 0 use port 55901, then you GS port should use 55901

Still not working man port and server code are the same with each other but still i get DC BTW i if u may ask im still on my Lan connection. havent done yet using online connection. can u tell me the solution man?

are you on a router? is yes, forward the port that wqas posted in the first post.
if vyou are on lan, i dont know how to resolve this cause i never use lan connection b4

Yes i forwarded all the port mentioned above. and yes im using a Hub Switch. but can u play your client on the PC were the server is?

I'm using port 55903 and I disconnect after being logge din for like 2 minutes.
55901 doesn't work, 44405 doesn't show server list. Ideas? Help? Please?

2 questions about my server (1.02k)
1). GM can't use /Trace (CharName) or /Trans (CharName)?
2). GM can take DMG from Monster and Players. How to make it invulnerable like recent versions of MU?

2. For invulnerable GM use CTL code to 8

I tried /Trace test and /Trans test nothing happens
and i can't use move command when i press "D" only normal player can.
where can i find ctl 8 i opened the GsSetRun.ini on data folder i found only GMmove = 8 <---is this the one ill change?

CTL code are in Character SQL Table. Now at my server i can't user /Trace or /Trans . Why ? :( Lisselote some help ?

PLZZZ liselotte ure ower only chance:D i got same problem and i dont know why ...first i cuold not see the bar then i changed server code to 1 and worcks the bar but when i click it shows the other bar whit people online and when i click that bar i get disconect plzzzzz help me its my only problem and i get my server on !!!!

I get 2 errors (=_____=")
1= With EventServer: DB ODBC Connect FAIL(=> Don't know why, I run the 3 ODBC.reg files)
2= With GameServer: Loginserver connect fail(=> Don't know why =P)
Could someone help me please? =)

is there a way were i can put a no ip guide for haste server files like yeah u know the noip dynamic thing because i try adding it and it gives me lots of errors and will not start up so if like ip changes i can just update dynamic dns to my new ip with out the need of putting in my global ip again to allt he files and main.exe on client?

Hi, Im trying to build up a 1.02N server, but when I try to open both of the DATA SERVER files, the next message appears on screen
Error: WZ_CreateCharacter Stored Procedure Version: 1
So If anyone can help me with this problem, I will be very grateful

Ok... i have a little problem... everything works well with a server but it has oly one problem... u can enter the Guild master and edit the guild u want but it doesn't create it. What can the problem be????
