Ok ! first my idea . you can make donnate section with a gift of mount
Ex: They send money at your adress and when you got the money you send the gift of mounth in it main caracter inventaire.

Instruction:
-your system.mrs with the code
-They pays you
-you add item in database([dbo].[item])(itemID : 12312313)
-They are happy and you too (with your money)

one of the main reasons people play on private servers for free games like gunz is because of the unfair ness that the so called prem items give other players.

with a p server ever one is back to having the same advantag/disadvatage as everyone else. what you are saying would make your server no better then the actuall servers run by maiet and there sups.

in other words, that is just a stupid idea. and only people with no brain would send you money, for a number of reasons. first being that your only a kid that has a minimal understanding of what goes on behind the scenes of the actual game.

@mackintosh - emulator or not(wich i dont believe anyway) you are still using there files, and there intelectual property. so wether of not you have a lawyer on staff(lol) you still dont have a leg to stand on in court.

if you dont believe me then hey thats you problem. but think of it this way. if they do decide to sue you are looking at $500,000 + the anual revanue of each version of gunz per month for the time your server is open + estimated value of items that you have taken money for. easly reaching 1mill+ in less then a month of running your server + selling items.

so you have fun with that.

That's why we don't plan on selling gift items anytime soon, don't really need donations from players though doesn't cost a lot to maintain the server, just time. 1) The game client is free, therefore nothing significant is being stolen that couldn't be recreated (and may be)

Now, it may be that we do have to use certain content that is stolen or whatever, but I suppose that'd be true of any emulator. The difference here, that makes it grey area, is that we're not actually avoiding any CD checks that ensures people pay to play.

As I understand, you can sign up and play for free anyway

I mean, the key here is that Gunz is being operated by such a small company that they'll never be able to really put the pressure on to close down.

Worst case, people will want to buy the server.

this is all moot, emulator or actual server files you can still be sued for one thing or another. i'm tyred of argueing this point with people that know dick about copyright law.

the fact is, unless you remake the game in its whole<client server and files> they can still take you to court and they will win.

just the fact of using there client for purposes that it was not released for is breaking the tos that you agreed to when you installed the dam thing.

Edited : I have edited with my HEX editor i have changed CopyRight for copylefts and changed Every MAIET For CAGun i dont know if its more legal.

Flash games - can be made in less then a hour.
CS Type Games - Can be made in less then four months
Sword & Gun Fighting types - less then four months

Look at halo2, It was released like two months AFTER the actual xbox was released.

From the start, make ur own TRUE private server, then just start to rip some things and put ur own copyright, and thats THE WAY FFS

Would it still be illegally selling items if you had a system like Ijjis? Where members buy points then trade them for items? Technically, you're not selling the items.

However its done, I'll never pay for items on a private server, one of the main reasons I play them is for free items.
