[Guide] Custom Client

Software Needed:
Hex Workshop or any hex client(Changing the text)
Stripper 2.11 RC1 ( For making the client editable)
AsProtect 1.23 RC1 (For compressing the client to work with GG)
PE Explorer (For resource editting)
Any PT client

Custom Text ~

Take the client you want, strip it down with Stripper 2.11 (May crash computer if not high enough performance) should become roughly 3mb, start it up (Cant play with in normal mode) and find all dialog box's you would like to edit (anything with orange/tan borders) and change to what you please.

Replacing the Yedang Symbol & and loading symbol ~

Pop open your client in PE Explorer click view, resources, open up the bitmap folder, right click save resource. Open in your favorite image editing software and knock yourself out (Images must remain BMP and 256 color or the client will error)

Editting the login screen ~

PT Folder > StartImage > Login > Gamelogo.bmp ~ Gamelogo6.bmp
(Most of them need to be ran through the tga decoder you can find around here)
You can use a couple image editors for this ( I would recommend Photoshop CS2)

Use the newer stripper, 2.07 is out dated and loves to crash high performance or not...

Open a uncompressed client in Hex Workshop and go to edit, find. Type in the text you want to edit.

how did u change the level of jera from 0-105? because mine is 0-80.

plus cap level & items skin.

Which client are you trying to unpack

wrong version of aspack it do increase the propper file size from 1.02>1.09 and above

even adds that the software was packed with a trail version.

I would really suggest searching for the AsPack keygens

fixed my problem...... however its impossible to unpack 1855 i think.

Links are dead for a reason. This guide is not in the guide section for a reason. This thread is dead (last post March 2007), please don't necro, and please, don't follow this guide... much. It's just too out dated.

You really don't need most of those tools any more. In fact, you don't need any of them. Those that could still be used have much better, alternatives now... and, their links are still fine.

Only tools needed are "A hex editor" (Hex workshop is "okay" IMHO) and a resource editor. ResHack was better even then, but also PE Explorer is not freeware.

No client worth working on (or that you could discuss working on here) requires Stripper or AsProtect. AsProtect is quite expensive anyway, and there is no Demo or Trial version. -.- The un-asprotect programs in the RCE community are free, and work better for this job... they won't "protect" a program though... only remove the protection. (It's easier to remove than it is to apply... some "protection". I guess you get what you pay for... or in this case, pay for what you don't get.)
