Pretty cool. It's like Nintendo's Mii with some of XBL and of course The Sims. Now how long is it going to take for us PS3 owners to use it? O.O

every game released from this point on the ps3 will have Home integrated in, and all you have to do to access Home is hit the "Home" button on the sixaxis controller =p

anyways i wanna make my own mafia in there just like in the sims online or second life.
Won't be long before 360 gets it as well. The game looks amazing, however isn't there something similar to this in PC (I am not talking about SIMS). The only though coming to my mind is the lack of players. But I'll look around a bit more and hopefully find some useful info for myself.

Found some more articles about it. Still not quiet clear though. So it is something like a side time game as in Lobby etc which is added to every single game.

With the PS3 for the last 4 months you only had one real game that's worth it and that's Resistance. Good thing this month tons of games are being released for it. Not until we see games like Lair, Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, MGS4, Devil May Cry 4, and FFXIII will there be any real driving reason for the system. And how long is that going to take? Lair comes out in May followed by Heavenly Sword in June. And the rest will hopefully be here in the fall or by the end of the year.
But you know it's going to be kick ass once MGS4 and FFXIII comes out. :drool:

Ok, now I need 500 bucks for a PS3. Crap.
The home thing seems really cool, but if I wanted to do something like that I would just buy the sims or something. :P I'm not trying to diss the PS3, but so far I see no good games for it, and the home isn't going to make me want to spend 500 bucks for one. :P
It's still a really good idea though.

I'm not a PS3 owner, and most likely never will be. However, I will tack onto the end of this thread that representatives for the development of "Home" stated they make no garuntees Home will permanentally be a free service. That line instantly set off my "Sony bullshit alarms" and further deterred me from the purchase of a PS3. Don't mistake the tone of my post for a flame, it isn't. I have a neutral stance in the "console wars", I just dislike Sony nowadays.
After two years of development and closing in on a beta, plus the fact that it will be a "main" application for the PS3, they can't give a definitive "It will be free", "It won't be free", I instantly realize the fact that they may heavily consider instating a monthly/yearly charge at a later date. The fact that Home is an XBL type service is good, a charge wouldn't be bad either, but don't BS your users...
From all that I've read and understood about it is that the basic service will be free. Though if you wish to spend money you can do other things like get a nicer looking flat, different character designs, different items, new mini games, go to the movies and pay to watch a movie (hopefully the ones in the cinemas as that would rock), etc.
Basically they let you have it for free but if you want the cool extra stuff it'll cost you. And not to mention it's going to loaded with ads from companies. And those ads costs 100s of thousands of dollars to run.
