Your happy with it then? Does it come pre-installed with any expansion packs? If it does which ones and can you download them from the PS Store.. Getting my PS3 tmoz and i'll probs get oblivion for it :)
Oblivion is awesome. I still play it sometimes, but I mainly just fuck around with the console when I do.
Not out here in the UK for another month or so.... :(
The UK release for PS3 is 23.03.07 (2days) but its way to expensive imo, id prefer it on xbox (despite having slightly worse graphics), and the game launch is sometime in april though
but is it smoother than the computer version :P? I'd like to play it on the PS3 though.
But dont you guys feel that the PS3 version wont be as customizable as the PC version? Especially with the construction set and etc available for the PC.
I really don't care about the whole customization thing for PC although it would be nice its not something that would make me buy the PC over the 360 version. really would've never gotten the game if it weren't a gift anyway. saving up money for other games.
Oblivion ftw. Consoles ftl. So I got the PC version =p. Besides, I personally love the construction set, so it's not like I had a choice ^_^
I don't understand why they have to make all PC games console gamers! PC is better for some games but other games should be played on consoles. Keep it separate plix ^^
Hmm, in my own personal opinion, I think that all games are better played through the PC here. Minus of course the old school top down RPG's like the classic final fantasies and such.. but even then Ive got myself a controller and jsut run an emulator through my computer.. works even better because i can set the framerates up to 200x and give myself a big ol bump up in levels in a very short period of time ;)
They did say they optimized it for better performance but they PS3 has weaker GPU to begin with. Didn't expect it to perform better on weaker hardware. O.O
Also how's the draw distance? Did they turn it down to pull that off?
Also, to the one that asked. The PS3 version has all the addons already in it that you have to buy for the xbox 360 version except for shivering isles.

Grr shivering isles is the addon i want :(
Kyle will kill me if he sees me posting this, Shivering Isles will cost 2400 MS Points, so I have been saving up not giving him any to buy RB: 6 New Maps.
Anyways, Oblivion is done with. Its past now. Shivering Isles will fill its spot. If only it had multiplayer then the game would be perfect. I'll update my old Shivering Isles Thread with some new info.
Well Kaoii, good to see you like Oblivion as well. Don't take me wrongly but I thought you played games like Tiger Woods, Poker etc. (Nothing wrong with that).
Elder Scrolls IV - PS3 vs. Xbox 360 Comparison HD
The PS3 is better and much lighter in some areas but, the charateristics of the faces isnt as good IMO as 360. Although the PS3 is better in other areas e.g when they are fighting it is much more responsive. Make your judgement.
Yey... The PS3 version isn't overly dark and has a greenish hue. Though the colors are not as good.
In fact. That's how nearly every PS3 to x360 game compares. The x360 just seems to be darker with a slight greenish hue to everything (which is highly annoying) but the PS3 is lighter with more washed out colors. Anyone else ever notice that?
And yeah. The character models and lighting is much better on the x360. Though the textures are vastly improved on the PS3 version.
One thing is for sure. If MS can just tweak the Xenos from displaying such dark images and get rid of the greenish hue it will win out on everything in graphics. Though the PS3 does have some nice textures but that's only because they was buffed up with the 1 year time gap.

tbh the difference is very minimal. i see no reason to take on over the other unless you are a graphics freak and want everything to the max. anyway its the same game in the end i'm happy with my 360 version.
True but theres a major boundary for that also. The amount of video RAM and the power of the GPU to do that. Which the PS3 fails in comparision to the x360 in.
So if the PS3 can pull it off then the texture size isn't that large and could fit on a dual layer DVD. Especially when it wasn't full to begin with. =P
If you have both systems and want the game. PS3 does have some advantages. It does come with all the add-ons that you must buy with the x360 version. So in the end it'll save you $20-30. =P
But other then that. It's really the same game. No reason to pick up a second copy of it.
And if your are a graphics junky. The PS3 can only do 720p while the x360 can do 1080i/1080p.

oblivion runs smooth on the 360 if you clear the cache. If you dont it tends to chug along.
Depends on the type of compression the PS3 uses on its images.
Good/great compression gives a value closer to the data's Shannon value. This also means it has more to decode making the processors have to work harder.
What I'm getting at is the PS3 has huge disk space, they'd be idiots not to use that space to stick data on in a less compressed format. If size doesn't matter would you rather use a JPEG or a BMP?
I prefer the pc version, alot cheaper (you can get a decent pc that costs less than the ps3), easier controls, can cheat if theres a bug (use NPC create if you killed an NPC needed for a quest earlier in the game), get cool mods and much more.
Umm... The cost of a video card that will run it at the same quality as the PS3/x360 version you'll need to spend just as much as a PS3. Not to mention you'll also have to buy a CPU that costs the same and other stuff. =P
$300 for a x360 core will give you the same experience as a $2000 PC.
