DOO emulator REQUEST

Hi all.
I am a noob to this site but i love the content. i have set up a few servers and am loving it but the one things i cannot find anywhere ever is an attempt to recreate the fantastic DDO i was wondering if anyone here has attempted.
I am a programmer by trade so i am willing to put some time into this but i dont realy know where to start and if anyone else has got somthing running.
I know we are all RPG nuts (well I am) and DDO is amazing but the monthly cost is to rich for my blood.

I was looking into re-creating the login part at least but the packet sniffer i am using will only show ALL data not anything from the ddo.exe it seems to be hidden? can anone advise on what sniffer i could use?
I am using WireShark atm.
