too true.
having guns doesn't make you safer, it makes everyone else more dangerous.
You cant stop that kinda shit d00d. If you get rid of handguns, they could think of something else. Flippin Fertilizer for example, like in the oklahoma city bombing. Its like sayin if there were no Microsoft, computers would fail to exist.
In a nutshell, your logic fails.
I was just reading this story, sad stuff.
Do you really think that there'd be a difference if guns were outlawed in america? People still have them in many countries that they are outlawed in.
Um...No. Students are gunned down because people pick on these students to the point where they become emotionally unstable.
Gun laws have nothing to do with school shootings. And owning a gun isn't just for protection. I like to go hunting too, and that's recreational.
So don't start another thread where you bash America. It's getting old, and frankly, I'm quite tired of it. In America, we have the freedom to bear arms and defend ourselves as well as use them for recreational purposes like hunting. It's not the government's fault if some peer pressure leads to a school shooting. That's a parents fault for not taking precautions to prevent their child from obtaining a gun.
I'm trying to be as civil as I can about this because I'm trying to hold myself to a higher standard rather than start a flame war here. If you have something bad to say about America, good, great for you, but keep it to your god damn self. I don't see any news link, article, or anything like that in this thread. So stop spamming shit like this.
Well I would rather say that this is to blame on faulty education of kids. Rather then arms. But it seems that education is getting worse everywhere.
No, that's what happens when you don't bring your kids up right and/or notice when they have a problem and aid them in dealing with it.
I wouldnt even go as far as saying that, this guy probably either had some kinda phychological disorder, or was just extremely pissed.
How exactly would you teach that in school? By saying, "Shooting people is bad"?
I think this is the skewl shooting hes referring too
ABC News: Gunman Kills 21 on Virginia Tech Campus
How about posting some links when you discuss news?
I don't think it's got anything to do with owning a gun, though personally I rather not have one.
What it's down to really, which is similar all over the world is education weather it is in school or out. People are not being educated about these things properly weather it's about defending one self or attacking and consequences of one actions. There are not being brought up with all the rights and wrongs of their actions.
It's alright telling someone not to kill anybody it's against the law but they are not taught why or anything to that degree because they are too lazy to tell them. I am not pointing to any country in particular either.
I honestly don't know how you people sleep at night... yes it may come as second nature to you to own a gun, but i don't think you appreciate how frightening that concept is in many countries.
I will be staying in the US for a few months starting this September, and the only fear i have is that everyone i see on the street would most likely have a gun. "Oh wow, a gun, big deal..." you might be thinking, but coming from a country where the only guns you see are attached to the waist of a police officer, thats a VERY scary thought.
I feel safe here because i know that if anyone tries to invade my home, i can and will defend myself using martial arts and whatever other instruments i can use. They may have a bat, they may have a knife, but i can defend myself against it. But if that happened in the US, my martial arts means nothing, all my training means nothing, and if i had a gun that would also mean nothing... because i know the only thing that would keep me alive would be IF i somehow manage to shoot them before they shoot me. You cant dodge a bullet, you cant see it coming, and you sure as hell cant block it.
People don't just carry around guns. You have to have a "License To Carry" and even with one of those, if you aren't a law enforcement officer, it has to be concealed.
Home invasions aren't the big fad here in the US. Why? Because people are allowed to defend their homes. And long ago, people figured that breaking into homes when people are allowed to own guns, isn't the smartest thing to do.
Also, if you are convicted felon, it's illegal for you to own a gun. So, unless someone really wanted to rob you, they won't have a gun.
