Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
Hi!!
Mu Skiner is a program to convert Mu image files into readable ones (JPG, TGA and BMP) and vice-versa. Its very simple and useful.
What it makes?
- Converts .OZT to .TGA, .OZJ to .JPG, .OZB to .BMP
- Previews all these images types: OZT, OZJ, OZB, TGA, JPG, BMP.
- Has an explorer like interface to go to the desired path.
- Can convert multiple files at the same time: if you select an OZT file and a BMP file he will convert them to a TGA file and a OZB file respectively.
- Asks to which directory you want to convert the files. This comes in three flavors: convert always to the same directory, convert to the directory the file is or convert to a directory of your own choosing.
Bugs Fixed:
- Now it has and installer and uninstaller,
- The preview windows is adjustable.
- If you don't select an image or a Mu file he no longer asks you the path for the conversion.
- Now it haves three languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish.
- If you right click a file you can choose: Open, Convert or Open and Convert. The last one is only available if you have selected a Mu file like OZT.
- Refresh fixed.
Obs: you need .NET Framework 2.0 to run the program. The installer checks if you have it installed, if you don't he asks you if you want to download it.

If you have any ideas, suggestions or feedback please don't hesitate in giving it, even if is a bad feedback.
PS: Fraps I hope you like the open function.

Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and some bugs corrected)
I have been working on that idea (and other things) all aftermoon. When i release when u rightclick on a file theres the option open. I wanted to include the option open with but i dont have the time and really dont know how to it yet.
I intend that bug of not refreshing after convert or delete would be corrected.

Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and some bugs corrected)

Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
when u try to install the program doesnt he says that u havent framework installed and if u want to download it? It should say so just hit yes and download it. If u were able to run it before u should be able to run it now.

Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
#1, Lasering - Good job, thank you for this release!
# Estimation: 9/10
Code:
1) There was pleasantly see in following release button About and Credits for this program!
2) Wanted that you have else begun to change the version of the program to possible was distinguish! (Example: "Mu Skiner v0.1")
3) There was much well if program shown the files with extensions only: ".ozt", ".ozj", ".ozb", ".tga", ".jpg", ".bmp".
P.S. -> Once again thank you for release, and here is these three above enumerated clause, personally I wanted see in following release!
P.S. -> Excuse for my bad English.
-
Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
Let me see if i understand.
u want a about and credits for the program, and version mark on the name and that he only shows ".ozt", ".ozj", ".ozb", ".tga", ".jpg", ".bmp" right?
The first two things i think they are dispensable, but maybe i'll include.
The 3rd thing, maybe the one that u wanted for real (right?), is already implemented on this version, if u look carefully to the options of the program there is one called "Show only mu files", that is exactly what u are asking for.

Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
HK: are .att files images?
Sh4dowMix: just double-click on the .jpg or .tga file (the IMGs files) and it popup a window to choose where to convert (depends on ur options) u choose the folder and it converts the same to .OZT, u can even multiconvert like u select all the files u want to convert and we asks 2 folders one to IMG files and other to MU files.

If I remember correctly, Mu needs its OZT files (encoded TGA) to be a specific color-depth, and transparency added by other programs can be troublesome.. If you want a JPG to be an OZT you probably should convert JPG => TGA => OZT :thumb:
P.S: Batch conversion yay! :laugh:
-
Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
OZT/OZJ conversion is actually quite simple. It only requires several lines of code. If you have Perl installed, you can even do it straight off command line without using a program.
So, if you've got Perl installed on your computer, just open up a command prompt window, browse to the folder, and type in any one of the following 4 lines to convert every file of a certain type in that folder.
So here's your batch conversion :P :
Convert OZJ=>JPG:
for %f in (*.ozj) do perl -e "$f=shift;open I,$f;binmode I;read I,$_,-s$f;s/^.{24}//s;open O,'>%f.jpg';binmode O;print O" %f
Convert OZT=>TGA:
for %f in (*.ozt) do perl -e "$f=shift;open I,$f;binmode I;read I,$_,-s$f;s/^.{4}//s;open O,'>%f.tga';binmode O;print O" %f
Convert JPG=>OZJ:
for %f in (*.jpg) do perl -e "$f=shift;open I,$f;binmode I;read I,$_,-s$f;s/^(.{24})/\1\1/s;open O,'>%f.ozj';binmode O;print O" %f
Convert TGA=>OZT:
for %f in (*.tga) do perl -e "$f=shift;open I,$f;binmode I;read I,$_,-s$f;s/^(.{4})/\1\1/s;open O,'>%f.ozt';binmode O;print O" %f
And if you only want to convert a single file, remove the "for %f in (*.xxx) do" part, and replace %f with the file name. That, or replace the (*.ext) with (file_to_convert.ext).

Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
Sure, but the shell commands and previewing are good for productivity, since often people will be working with dozens of files at once... :huh:
-
Re: [Release] Mu Skiner (3 languages supported and open function inplemented)
Sure, previewing and user interface are all nice. I was just saying that for those that don't need all that, you can do a batch or single file conversion right off of command line.

People in Mu section comfortable with command-line interfaces = umm about 20? Not that that's a particularly bad thing, mind you... 99% of people don't _need_ to know how to use anything but a GUI in everyday life... So yeah for the 99% it's useful ;) And for the rest of us who CAN do it manually but don't want to waste time when a GUI is easier, it's good too. Thanks for posting the perl info for the purists, tho :smile:
