not really qonquer is based on conquer so it is an mmorpg and sins its a private server its posted in the right forum...btw qonquer had some trouble with it host just like conv.us,off topic:i wonder when that comes online again because i couden't go to the register page
QO didn't pay the bills and went down. That's what I heard.

tbh he did but what did any of his developing help anyone else?And his server dissapearingwipes alot of competition away.I could see if ron and me said oh its good that co 2.1 was gone(they arnt and i hold nothing against you toshi i love your server or old one)thatd be mean cause theyve helped other servers

They are making no effort to support the private server community. All they are doing is making a server for themselves. Why respect them when they don't release anything?Quote:

well if they hadnt started the CO2 private server in the first place i dont think the idea of this would have comed up at least that is my opinion
It was going to happen eventually. It doesn't matter that they started it, its just that they started it before anyone else did. There was going to eventually be a private server when Conquer was still popular but now the game is pretty much ruined thanks to TQ. Hell, people probably want a private server more now because it would be better to play than official.Quote:

TQ doesn't pay Qonquer. The only reason they don't shut them down is because, as said a long time ago by the Qonquer team, if TQ tried to shut them down they will release their source to the public.
Conquer needs a private server now more than ever. Here' show i'd fix official errors.
1) No Noob Protection. SOrry worst idea ever. PK is a major part of the game. it should be restored to what it once was.
2) Only protected in TC if you are white name and on peace. If you pk you need to hide in market or TG.
3) SImple mac address check to stop multi client mining. if too many clients connect and mine,then the odds of getting gems are reduced appropriately. Then bump mine rate back up to pre nerf levels. If you're trying to get a house, multiclient all you want. :)
4) Only allow double team exp if lowest and highest level in the team are within 20 of each other. This will slow down water factories. Possibly same rule with noob exp.
5) Quality/plus Item drop rate increase tenfold if you are killing monsters that give full exp. Also DBs and mets. Help people out doing honest levelling a bit. Give warrior a nice boost, as they can get good stuff while SUpermanning. :) But archers will still kill 20+ times as fast, making hunting still better for those good at it.
6) WIth no pay for DBs, bring back VP for DB, and provide a new quest or two in game to let people get a few extra DBs.
7) Leave CP and lottery in, but remove certain unbalancing items like CleanWater, ExemptionToken, +8s, socket armors, etc.
This shoudl create a fun conqer experience i think.
I agree with most of what everyone is saying here about Conquer. I would disagree that anyone is working for TQ that runs a private server, otherwise the server would work. I also think anyone that develops a private server that works, but does not release anything... deserves no respect from anyone. The fact that is has taken them 2 years to get as far as they have gotten so far means that they would benefit from an open source development scheme.
If CO servers popped up all over, and good coders start working on QO's files, TQ would have some real competition. I would rather play on a server that brings back the features that players like rather than features that have been developed by TQ in order for them to capitolize on DB sales.
If you ask me, QO is greedy, and they will start selling their services before they release any code.
Open source in some communities is best never used. From my experience (I had an open source server development team few years ago on an mmo), open source has it's uses but not here.. First of all, most people who play CO are children. Accept it or not, most are under the age of 17, and a large majority of that are under 14. What good would having full sources to it be if you don't know what to do with them? A common question my team was asked before. "How do you add this in?". Answer? YOU don't. Furthering one's knowledge is one thing, but if you make CO open source, as you can see from many topics here, people do nothing but two things, leech, or ask 10000 questions about how to do something that releasing in binary would have fixed. Most people can't even compile the sources or even know what a .cs or .cpp file is or how to use it. Releasing binaries is fine, but not sources.. that's too far.Quote:

QO is still online, well the gameserver. They took the site offline for a makeover or something. The gameserver is still up and playable. Just download the client and the only thing that works is:

Staff
Qonquer the admin/creator is the only one with power right now.
-This simply means that staff may not provide support for a certain length of time. There is no set date as to when staff will recieve their power back. Qonquer is re-writing the admin panel which will effectively manage staff powers better. Also, he won't be interuptted by other staff members restarting the server or doing events. This will allow him to code with out any interferance.
Why no updates?
Server Rewrite.
-Qonquer is doing an entire server rewrite. This means that hes re-coding the entire Qonquer server from scratch. It will allow the server to be more stable and function correctly. Yes this means that the lag issue should be resolved. Although I am unaware wether Qonquer will do a database wipe since the data for the two servers may be different. Hopefully this should be an advancement towards alpha. Keep in mind that you all are nothing more then testers.
Where are the forums?
The forums was one of the causes of lag.
-With the forums off the server should run a little smoother. Well thats only one of the benefits. He shut it off to not have to deal with the hassle of annoying members. Have you noticed that people spam more then help? There is nothing useful to the forum. It simply drains the bandwidth which costs quite a bit of money.
What about the lottery?
The lottery is not being worked on.
-The main thing on Qonquer's mind right now is doing an entire server recode. After hes done he'll deal with all the little matters. Please be patient as all you are, are testers. Remember Qonquer does this at his own free will, at anytime he could shut off the server.
