Does no one think about security anymore? How Microsoft SQL lacks the security that MySQL has. Did the guy who made the emu have to be different and write the SQL in MS SQL. Christ, every other emulator uses MySQL while this one uses MS SQL. . . . .
Someone wanna convert it?
Gunz doesn't use an emulator, it's leaked server software which used MSSQL. If you wanna make an emulator yourself and use MySQL or some other alternative, be my guest.

If you use the enterprice edition you cannot connect from remote peer.
If the website querys are build save then mssql injection is almost in possible.
And about MySql It allow remote connection, with Ip,UserName,Password [thats not the problem with MSSQL]
I never gone say that MSSQL is save to use, but is MySQL save to use?? they dont give garanty.
The safest way to dont get hacked is..... Dont host an server [LOL]
But i think Gunz has more security gaps then the database, like the FileList.xml
MSSQL is more stable, than MySQL.

And yeah, MySQL is better, convert the MSSQL database and download the MySQL ODBC connecter.
i dont recomend MySQL for large servers, in the past, ive been using MySQL but with 1200+ players MySQL is a sh1t

A site with 16000 members and every 20 mins 10000 query updates runs great on MySQL, try it on MSSQL, it will be very slow.

I have it running at MySQL too, but im not gonna use it, because MatchServer is working finer with MSSQL.
Unless we have the source of MatchServer, MySQL is nothing for GunZ.
errr... why fix something that isnt broken... just use MSSQL ... if your worried about security, just make a back up every week and burn it on a RE-WRITABLE cd.... trust me they cant hack your cd. >_>
