Image Guide to Port Forwarding

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
very nice, straightforward and thorough. i know many people will benefit from this.
HOWEVER: what i try to forward 51211 to 51213, this happens:
http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/6...wardingud9.jpg
-
Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
i know what the problem is.
instead of opening 51211 to 51213 AND 51213 to 51215
you need to open 51211 to 51215 because 51213 was in there twice, some routers let it work, others dont.
good luck :)

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
it doesn't work. i tried that, but instead, i get login server connect fail or some ranking server related error.
this configuration gives me no errors except the joinserver one:
http://i15.tinypic.com/6h7lnuq.jpg
and ports cannot be there twice. any help?

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
are you sure the last three numbers in your local ip are 100 and not 101 or 102
?

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
How do I get port forwarding with a D-Link router?
-
Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
on most routers, there is a small button in the back of the router(if not, look for it on the router)
just press and hold it for 30 seconds
then your info will be
Username: *leave this blank*
pass: admin
good luck :D

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
maybe if i resetted my router do you think it could work?
-
Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
it might
and picadilly, most routers are the same, it could be worded differently than Applications and gaming, but its generally the same setup
-
Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
Nice guide there Congrats
<--- Off Topic ---> Vista lolz
-
Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
*snaps fingers*
i think i know what's wrong! maybe its the fact that my network is secured.
maybe it would work if i unsecured it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: nope, i am 100% sure now that it is not a port/ip problem...
maybe i should stop using forever faulty guide and use yours.
*tries that* await edit to see if works.

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
Great, easy to follow guide. It will help a lot of people.
Caution to those who don't understand port forwarding - it's opening your pc up to attack by would-be hackers. only open ports you NEED, not ranges, and NOT DATASERVER PORTS - this will help you in long run.
GL all, and 10/10 on guide!!

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
Something a lot easier is to turn on DMZ and point it to your computer instead of forwarding individual ports. Just get a firewall to block what you don't want. Thats what I do.
-
Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding

Re: [GUIDE]Image Guide to Port Forwarding
Hey guys,
I figured out that the problem is not in my router but in my modem.
The idiots at AT&T thought it would be nice to screw with me and
make a firmware update, and Add NAT/Gaming to their modem options,
which I see no need in since there are no ports blocked anyways.
Anywho,... Point is I need help! I did IPpassthrough and whatnot and I
have not been able to get my server online!!! at all... its weird. I have no router
on right now. and I can play on my WAN IP (Global IP) Localy, but my freinds cannot connect to me!
WTF is going on!!!?
Can someone please help?

Re: [Guide] Image Guide to Port Forwarding
@guide... it is not needed to open some useless port like opening prot 79... 81... you can just do...
80 to 80
44405 to 44405
55901 to 55903
@baraev: check the ports if they are already open... if no then there must be something wrong with the settings...
i saw some port error in your image router... some ports are having conflicts...
-
Re: [Guide] Image Guide to Port Forwarding
Where excatly is the error?
