[Help] How to edit A3 Launcher size

Hi all,

I am posting on behalf of a friend after making suggestion for his server.

Since I can't seem to find any post after searching the forum, I have decided to post here. Do forgive me if I miss/overlook any post/thread that have this question previously.

I would like to check if there is anyway we could edit the A3 Launcher. Edit as in increasing the display area of the lower half html section whereby we usually see the announcements and stuff.

Hope anyone who knows about this can guide me so i can refer my friend to change the size of the display area. If i sound confusing, I have attached a picture of what I am trying to ask. Please review the picture.

There is a launcher tool available on these forums which has a slightly larger announcement area compared to the larger one. You could go try using but.

But if you wanna do it all by yourself - youse delphi or VB to just code up a launcher. That'd fit in great.

Thanks for the reply and it's great to hear from you again. Well I ain't really good at such stuff nor do I want to create a new launcher.

I just wanted to see what are the possible methods to extend the height of the launcher indicated in green arrows in my attached pictures.

With your experience, can you tip me on whether which method is better if I wish to just increase the display area's height as indicated in the picture and also, may I trouble you abit to write them into steps for me to start on it?

Me making a whole tutorial for that will take sometime. Just post up the requirement you need for the box and I will try and make one launcher for you.

Once again thank you very much for the reply. Well since a picture speaks a thousand words, I have re-photoshop another picture. This picture includes text and visuals before and after of what i wish to achieve via this thread's request.

Appreciate your kind offer and assistance to actually help in editing this launcher. Please kindly let me know how to apply this launcher to the player's clients as well, as in whether the server side needs to do anything, or should we just patch everyone's client using this new launcher.

Pointing it to the website will be in a config file which you can edit it at will.

Yes. I can get the job done for you. Already put it in my list. Just will take a couple-a-days as am hung up on some other work too currently.

In the meanwhile, it would be better if you send me the size in pixels. That'll give me an idea.

Thanks for keeping this item on your list. I am not sure which part of the pixel you are referring to, but instead of waiting for an answer, what I have done is to create another photoshop edit and after expanding the height :

The green area's (html display area) pixel is estimated Width 531 Height 272

Hope this helps, if it doesn't, do let me know what exactly I need to provide.

Try Using This it is easy 2 edit and change logo and url and all buttons
just edit en.ini and ip.ini

Please read before posting. Look for what he asked. He wants the launcher size edited. Not what you asked for.

Hi pranaydeep,

It didn't work at all. Not sure why is it so. And currently, legendary is too busy with his new school project so he wasn't able to follow up. Right now he can't even be active on ragezone and has even taken time off from GM post of his server.

Thus if anyone has any guide on this matter, please do let us know here.

Well, the A3 India Launcher is not compatible with the Clientexe files that we are using. So you have very limited choice regarding the launcher, so you can create one yourself!

Or wait for sometime, i will create it for you!

I see, no wonder when i tried on my end, it didn't work. cvrdheeraj, would it be possible to write out a basic guide? I believe it is worth a sticky if its up so we ourselves can try our hands on it to see if we are able to succeed.

i do remember someone created another laucher, just a button to launch the client. if im not mistaken it was made by the hades server folks.

btw, I just noticed and I cant believe how easy is to bypass a3.exe:

edit: same doesnt apply for launcher. apparently there must be a thread process with certain properties (to avoid double client perhaps?), because if you create a launcher.exe, a3client.exe will complain.

Here 3216473353 is the parameter which displays a value of "1.17" in the Launcher.

You can create a form layout of your style. Place the Internet Explorer (Extrinsic OCX) Control on the form. Just create some Command buttons to Connect, Exit, Video, Register and for the Settings you need to Read and Write to INI file. This can be done by using an Class Module or a Dynamic Link Library!

Ya it is not so complicated but it is complicated to some extent to people who dont have any idea about programming!

PS: Rudy, do you have Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, if so please advice me is that is good or not and does it work on Win XP?
