Would depend on the store you bought it because of sales and price drops, and yes the console would work anywhere, but you may have problems playing games you buy from countries using the NTSC format.
The x360 will run on any HDTV. Since all HD TVs output 720p and/or 1080i/p.
As for SDTV. An NTSC version will run on any NTSC TV and any PAL TV that supports 60htz. With a PAL version. It will only work on PAL TVs.
As for plugging it into the wall. You need to buy a new PSU for what ever voltage the country uses.
NA and JP uses 110v and NTSC
SA uses 220v and NTSC
Africa, EU, and AU uses 220v and PAL
UK and parts of Asia uses 230v and PAL
Other parts of Asia uses 220v and PAL or 220v and NTSC
So make sure it all matches up before you go to different regions.
As for games on different systems. Some games are region free while some are not. Google it and you can find a list of games and what systems the'll run in.

how do i know if my tv is sdtv or hdtv?
i live in israel so if i buy a xbox360 from europe will it work for me without a new psu?
You know how "normal" TV's have the Red, White, and Yellow Audio-Video input things, well, an HDTV set has like, alot of those in all different colors (I think red, white, yellow blue, and black, i dont feel like getting up to look.) If your TV just has the 3 yellow, red, and white inputs, then it's SDTV.
i got an sdtv so now how do i know if it's pal or ntsc
i dont know how...you must know it..lol
SD or HD? Well HDTV's with have a logo that says HDTV on it. Also they are very expensive. So if you haven't paid a lot of money for it and very recently then it isn't HDTV.
And it depends on what voltage your outlets use and what TV singles you use. If it's the same as Europe then it will work.
That isn't a good way to tell. HDTV's also have composite (yellow, red, white) cable hook up and SDTV's have component (2 red, green, blue, white).
Most HDTV's have HDMI ports though not all of them do.
Where do you live?

I believe NTSC is American and PAL outside of America.
NTSC is used in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Mexico, and some other countries, mostly in the Americas.
Television encoding systems by nation.
Here is the list of countries that use PAL:
Countries and Territories that use PAL.
i'm gonna get the 360 in the uk but what version should i buy ntsc or pal where i live we use pal but all my tv's at home support 60 htz so which one should i get?
PAL = higher resolution = better
Anyways why don't you just get it from where you are? That way you don't have to fuss about in getting the right games to work in it. Then you could just go to any local store and get any game.
Also you can't choose either NTSC or PAL. It's only 1 per region.

i don't want to get it from where i live cause it costs about 1000$ (converted it to dollers from native currency)so i rather get it cheaper and fuss about where i get the games which btw are about 100$ per game so all the mess is worth it
get an elite....>.>
lol yeah kinda too pricey for me
