selgate loosing connection
hello,
were having a wierd problem on bandet server at the mo the selgate seems stop responding after say 8 hours of being onlineand people log in fine but cant see there chars untill we reboot the selgate, its becoming quite annoying not just for us but mainly for the players as they cant get on untill we know about it and reboot the gate
is there a fix for this ?
is anyone else getting this problem ?
do you think its connected to ram usage ?
any help would be great

we had that problem, but for some reason it stopped happening, no idea why

the only thing i noticed is that the selchar gate seems to automaticaly reconnect to the dbserver if the dbserver didnt reply within 10 seconds
so when you get close/open user errors
that's when the selchar is reconnecting (that causes those errors atm)

ok thanks for the reply, that would make sence tbh as the dbserver is showing error 88 ? what ever that is in relation to, we think its down to not enough ram as we have 1.5 gig at the mo in the server and its running at that now so gona stick another gig of ram in the server pc and see what happens

error 88 seems to be that its had 88 errors, each time there is an error it seems to go up

the thing is we dont know what errors its having lol, as it doesnt display an error message, the only thing is says is sql keep alive, were sure its ram related tho as for some reason when everything is running, ie the server, sql and all the normal pc bits its pushing 1.5gb of ram and thats all that is in the machine, so were doing a ram upgrade and trimming the files ie, reducing the mongen numbers, getting rid of unused npcs etc
