this "may" help - www.computeractive.co.uk/resources - go down a bit until you see the Windows Messenger Uninstall tool. Follow the instructions and hopefully it will help you.

It will only work if you have Windows XP. Soz but it's the best I can come up with until I get home.

well yeah, but when you level hardcore sometimes your head goes to the land of dr and think your killing things on your wall instead of the computer so your really just throwing the keyboard and mouse at your wall...damn illusions.
