Changing the Server name

Hey guys, i need some help, well the problem is i don't know how to change the MatchServer name, i was told i had to unpack the client and hex edit it, could any 1 refresh my memory on how to do that?

Do you mean, you wanna change the server name the Players see when they need to acces your server?

Well, you won't find this in the MatchServer files I think, cause when I screwed over the system.mrs once the Server name was ''nomsg'', so check the strings.xml or messages.xml.

Uhm well you just have to edit your client with hexworkshop, (Gunz.exe) but yeah i was using LG , and they repacked it, and its protected it so im using a new launcher, now i just need help on hex editing >.< its like Davdgunz and when you change the name it has to be the exact same letters, and im wanting to make the name longer but im not sure where or what do with 0's to make it longer.

Hex editor is for .exe files, of which you don't have the source. Not for .mrs files...

To edit the servername you have to use Gunz.exe.....by using hexeditor

Are you thinking of the server name of the httpd, where it looks for update?

Ok download hexwokshop, run it, open file, Gunz.exe , search Text [Debug server], Change it, or what ever the name is of the server just type it in, click the Text String Radio.The server name as to consist of the same amount of letters the existing one has , so lets say if it was debug server, your server name would have to be the same ammount of letters as debug (5),Place your curser at the end of debug (or what the existing server name is) hit backspace until you get to the start of the name, and type in the letters, the letters will be red, thats supposed to happen, once you have changed it, save it, and run the Gunz.exe and you should see the server name has been changed.

i have everythin good but i get one nomsg ... it should say .. The player no yet ready.. (when i want to start the game) any ideas?
