Oh for crying outloud, we got a PS3 fanboy in the room
Why are you comparing the top model, with the lowest model of the PS3? Why not just compare the Premium with the 60GB? Or compare the Elite with the 80GB.
Just because someone is added, doesn't mean you should buy it, i don't care about either formats now, and thus i don't own the add-on, nor would i buy it if it was a BR add-on instead. This goes for the majority of the people btw.
Why would any gamer go wireless? It's crap, most people that tryed wireless, wether it was the 360 or the PS3, went back to a regular cable. Why you might ask? Because it's not a stable connection, a good gamer has a cable.
You can't compare the 2 services, where as Xbox Live offers you a lag free expierence (atleast on their servers - some companies host their own games like EA), a lot of content, a great system to play with, like 1 gamertag, always being able to invite people to your game, wether you are playing the same game or not, voice chatting while in different games etc Xbox Live simply is a great service, and in America they got a very impressive video marketplace, which is a lot more interesting then Blu-Ray considering i rather rent a HD movie, then pay 30 euro for a movie.
Now ain't that just a load of crap, 360 games aren't just 5 euro less on release, but there is also a wide-range of older titles. Where they ask 65 euro for Oblivion on the PS3, you can buy it for 30 on the 360, so you can buy for less money 2 games instead of 1 PS3 game. And yes, you can get a lot of great titles for much less, i got 22 top games here, and i paid about 26 euro on average for my games, and i do actually own 5 full priced games, but i also got games going as low as 10 euro, like Gun, brand new.
Because it just is, let me make you a comparison. I will use euro prices, basicly they are the same as the dollar prices on simply everything, 60 dollars there is 60 euro here, i will also use the PS3 example of 500 euro, as we actually had discounts for 500 euro the past few weeks due to the changes.
Xbox 360 Premium - 350 euro
Source - or get the Forza 2 pack for 400 euro
Xbox Live for a year - 60 euro
10 quality titles - 300 euro (again i'm actually below this average, and i only got titles with 8's and higher)
Total 710 euro
PS3 60GB version - 500 euro
Online services - free
10 games - 650 euro
Total 1150 euro
That's 440 euro higher, for this you can even go crazy and start buying that HD-DVD addon and the wireless adapter.
And this is with 10 games, if you made that 22 and you go on the average i was, then it would be roughly 900 euro more, not that the PS3 has 22 quality titles.
The fact that the 360 has many great titles already for 30 or less, makes the 360 much cheaper, if the PS3 had quality titles for 30 and less, then i would already have one, but i don't like buying Oblivion for 65, while i bought mine for 25, i don't like buying The Godfather for 65, while i bought mine for 22,50. You understand what i'm getting at, or can you only see the price of the console itself?
The cost of Xbox Live doesn't bother me, it's a great service, it's well worth the money, you really get what you pay for, which goes the same with the PS3, you really get what you pay for. And the HD formats doesn't really do it for me, besides i can get 720p movies from the internet on DVD format, it's not as great as BR or HD-DVD, but it still looks great, and it's free.
