Your Ragezone Memories :)
here are some of my memories of ragezone :D
-most aggravating thing to do: setting up a mu server in 04
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: getting a working mu server
-most annoying thing: all the pointless spam and whining in the mu section and having it shut down temporarily.
-biggest waste of time: trying to figure out the password to the mu section :P
-a funny thread: seeing pieter post his first work (or a work) in the portfolio section. then says he'll never come here again xD
-ragezone changing it's theme...a lot :P
mostly I was pretty much a loner; I didn't talk to many of the friends I do now, mainly because I was working on that one goal of the mu server, and I was too busy caring about that to care to know some people on here! Who's to say that's all I do now. I have a lot of memories on ragezone and so far about 75% of them are positive memories! I've met so many different people, and I've had such a great time here. C'mon, post away, let everyone see your ragezone memories :)
oh..well I stated it in response to benson's post, but you guys can come up with more categories than the one's I posted here. Also, thanks Dandune, sometimes (moderator or not) it takes only one person to help move everyone in the right direction ;)

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
man i remember being a total Mu kiddie. just coming here to check out the servers and whatnot. met some really cool guys back then which haven't come here for a while now. Remember hanging with them and almost having an MU server which seemed so totally awesome back then. Didn't socialize much tho. Regret that now seeing how many awesome people i could've known for longer. The thing that really got me into RZ tho was the Counterstrike Server. Thank you Kaoii for that. reached a 1000 posts thanks to that and since then been surfing around firstly looking for private servers and only discussing games and now just here to have fun. Damn so much has changed since then. I myself have changed a whole lot. never actually realized how long i've been here til now.

most aggravating thing to do: Getting away from MU after I started posting more.
biggest feeling of accomplishment: After knowing some people more, I've found out I'm the most youngest out of the group.
most annoying thing: Being judged before because I played Mu.
biggest waste of time: I'm not really sure =\
a funny thread: When TheAngel appears, always made things more awkward.
-
Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
wait benson...lol I'm a bit lost here. You felt that you figuring out you're the youngest (consider now as one of the youngest) is an accomplishment O_? I'd go for something more like a surprise or something.
You guys don't have to follow any format, I was just putting stuff in my own words (not that you guys can't use it, though my list is rather lacking)
-
Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
my first time coming here is to search for mu private server. i don't really know that ragezone is a forum o.O. I just start learning computer, internet, etc. my friends introduce to the internet at the age of 12 because i don't have a computer at that time and my school don't have internet for us to study, research, etc.
anyway, a friend on mine in the internet cafe introduce me to RZ. and then i keep coming back to RZ but i havent start posting at that time because i don't know that ragezone is a forum and i dont know what a forum is.
But i still rmember in the old day, the muonline section were shutdown due to spam.

I mean out of the large population in this forum it feel like quite the achievement , besides that becoming a rz game dev was something I really wanted to be :p

-most aggravating thing to do: Trying to open ports.
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: When I finally realised I had to open them on my firewall too...
-most annoying thing: Diamondteam.
-biggest waste of time: Playing mu.
-a funny thread: The one where all the MUnoobs got pissed because the Musection was closed down.
-
Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
First Soma Pserver, left Esoma for it. Ah the good ol' days when nearly 100 people played it.. lol.
-
Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
-most aggravating thing to do: Trying to understand what everybody ment by server stuff ( good days )
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: When I got Mod status xD
-most annoying thing: Watching Mu noobs flame each other on whos character is the best
-biggest waste of time: Going around RZ, not understanding anything thats said.

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
Ty for a decent thread Gatekeeper.
-most aggravating thing to do: constantly relevel after each wipe in Ragesoma
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: asked to be a GM on RZWoW after helping on the forum (lol..)
-most annoying thing: accused of being a thief because someone had access to my account
-biggest waste of time: arguing.
-a funny thread: can't really remember many, had loads saved since like '04 but lost them in a format, remember one where NoPeace was drunk though & the Devin threads :icon6:
Don't really remember much before RZWoW... I lost password for my first username & made this one in 03, didn't really post much in Mir/General... Went absent for a few months then came back & posted a bit more often. Was one of the first to set up a private soma server, shortly after RZ got it's own and I spent a lot of time playing that with a friend, made some new friends & a lot of enemies on it... I really miss the people that played Soma tbh ... Can't really remember much else, I know I played Mir3 for a bit but it wasn't the same as the old Mir2 times, tried MU for a bit but got bored instantly... I then hid away in Ragezone WoW section for a long long time.
Soma screenshots!

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
Well... I remeber browsing these forums with a friends account back in 2003-2004 just for searching for mu servers... I didn't even have a clue about the other sections, then in 2005 got my own account strictly for getting mu servers then I started trying to develop my own server (didnt manage to) after that I started browsing the other section and realised that this is much more than just a mu servers forum. :P After that I got tons of flames for my idiotic posts and everyone calling me a mu noob... first I was offended by them ever since I post every now and then when I felt like it. :)

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
Sipher is a very old mate of mine, we've known each other through school since we were 12.
Back in 04 we we're in the same class doing a GNVQ together and at one point during a break in lesson we were chatting and he started showing off about this forum that's supposed to be the ultimate.
I end up registering and spending most of my time in the entertainment section, posting and jokes and talking about random stuff with poorshot.
during the next few months I grew to like the forum more and more, I ended up getting ionic to join, I say getting, I mean putting him infront of a PC and forcing him to register =P
after the GNVQ I was home for the summer, with no internet and nothing much to do I forgot about Ragezone, I'd visit every now and again when I'd go to a net cafe to download roms but apart from that I pretty much disappeared.
September came and I started a new course, Sipher was in the same college as me but doing a seperate course, we all knew the codes to the computer rooms so I had the net again.
I started going on Rz again and joining in the forum discussions.
And that is my story.

-biggest waste of time: Well, biggest waste of time was some of argues I had in the pass, and trying to set up my own server. (hehe)
-a funny thread: That quarter of million thread, god it gave me so much laugher. Let's not forget epic lulz that came off Ninja Roping
Anyways I haven't been here so long as bunch of you was, so I really can't figure out many memories that are not RZWoW related. Hopefully, with time, that will change. Don't let my post count to trick you. :wink2:

You making sit in front of a PC to register was to do with you getting me to get a "@mad.scientist.com" email address from the same site you had that "@mindless.com" from.

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
-most aggravating thing to do: At a point nearly moderating this whole forum by myself when there was pretty much a riot on the Mir 2 server between the Romanians (i believe it was them) and the rest of the server
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: Becoming a Admin of this forum and later on a GM on the Mir 2 server
-most annoying thing: Idiots who constantly pm'd for stupid things, when you get about 100 a day of which 90-95 of them were spam (people asking me questions for which we had forums)
-biggest waste of time: Fighting with DTB back in the days while we could have kicked so much ass together
-a funny thread: I'm gonna go have to go with the Tonto topic in which Nik-C totally owned him after he claimed he had a girlfriend, Nik-C did a quicksearch and found her to be a Playboy model. It was a priceless thread.
-
Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
-most aggravating thing to do: Work with a PristonTale server... People still pm'ing me all the time to fix theirs
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: Hitting 1,000 members online for my pristontale server
-most annoying thing: Banning donators who after being banned want their donations back. It's so hard to explain ToS to PayPal and the banned donator.
-biggest waste of time: Teaching someone how to work with asp and/or mssql. Then after teaching them one day they come back 3 weeks later to do it again.
-a funny thread: I seriously don't know... I remember the email argument between MentaL and some guy that owned a company (supposedly) about people in Rz flaming him being funny, but that was so long ago it seems.
I miss Rz's theme before this one... but there were a lot of people copying it
I believe my beginnings were in the Team Recruitment section. I had just started a Ragnarok server and I got Cycoextreme to come help me from here.
I don't even read the server sections anymore. I read the latest posts off to the side and maybe the Server Help section but that it. Things seem to have gone so down hill =(

biggest feeling of accomplishment: Getting Modifiyed!
-most annoying thing: Seeing PM's , msn convo asking for help

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
the tonto thread isn't funny...it's legendary, the hilarity is one of those things that rarley ever appears.
-
Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
The funny thing about that topic that everyone loves that topic, even if they don't know who he is, for the people who do, just love it even more.

Many people found it to be funny, for me it wasn't. You have no idea how much shit i took from both the users and the staff for my actions, if you want to compare me to anyone those days, then it would be like Jack Bauer. Seriously i had all those members flaming each other, on one side we had romanians who had absolutely nothing to do with it but got pissed off by all the insults given to there whole country, and on the other hand we had lots of people pissed off by a group of romanian people. I had both on me, plus several other Super mods who felt the need to bitch about my moderating even though they didn't do a single thing, all they did was bitch bitch bitch, but not do anything at all.
Ofcourse the real shit started with them when i started banning lots of people, after i announced i would ban anyone flaming someone else from that point on, i banned quite a few people on both sides, including people i really liked who thought they were an exception to this rule, which pissed off those other super mods even more.
In the end the shit finally ended, i was demoted to regular mod, and those bitching super mods continued to be super mods even though they didn't do anything ever again.
Funny thing is that i would do it all the same if i had to do it again, it was the only way to end a flame war between over a hundred people without any support from any of the other mods.
Frankly i totally owned them all. ;)

-most aggravating thing to do:Trying to run a HabbySQL Server. Damn you HabbySQL Team
-biggest feeling of accomplishment: Finally ditching HabbySQL for Marks V11.
-most annoying thing: Madison (the bitch!:2up: :2up: :2up:)
-biggest waste of time: HabbySQL.
-a funny thread: In the original RZ (phpBB), my friend showed me this one about old ladies eating bran and it was so damn fucking hilarious!

when I say "most annoying thing" I really mean thread-wise, but I suppose you can hate madison... :\

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
I first started out here back when I was playing global mu, and a friend of mine (Jagg), kept telling me about private servers. He kept telling me how easy they where compared to global, and on and on.....so I asked him how does a person go about joining a private server? He said there is a web site that has a lot of them, he told me RaGEZONE like it was a secret website or something. (Atleast thats the impression I got from it)
So I come here, had problems finding my way around, cause even back then this forum was pretty big, and a little tough to navigate since I really never had any previous forum experience. Eventually found my way to the mu section, got most interested in the skins section. After that I started browsing the sub forums, started posting in threads just to kill some time, but seemed like everytime I made a post, some RZ ASSHOLE would smart me off, damn near everytime... so I left RZ but always found my way back.
I was a loner back then, and I pretty well still am. I don't have any specific friends that I have made from this forum, I usually make them in the servers.
This is the forum I searched anytime I wanted to try a new MU server, and now that I am way beyond bored with mu, I have moved on to RZ lineage2.
All in all, back when I first started, the community here was full of mouthy lil kids, but now it really don't seem to bad.
Even though, the occasional thread will get ruined because someone smarted me off a lil to much, and eventually the thread will get closed because I refuse to back down in a flame thread ^^ I try to limit that nowadays.
Anyway that is my story, sry for the length...

my RZ memories: doesn't really fit in the 4 questions. Nothing really aggravates me enough to be "most" just a few minor annoyances, mostly negative attitudes. I try to feel some sort of accomplishment here everyday, so the biggest, well I guess being hated, because not everyone is going to like it if you do a good job. It takes a lot to annoy me, so would be the same as most aggravating, and spamzilla is mostly funny, lots of lulz there. :)

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
lol I knew you'd bump this :P. It's okay guys, at least this time. This is a good thread so I'll leave it open.
this is a dedication to RZlineage 2.
I have screenie's of at least every generation of the RZ lineage 2 server. I have pictures of mental riding a dragon; strider, don, and myself killed the giant wyvern in death pass. I have many shots of when the server lagged so bad the mobs wouldn't respawn. I have many pictures of blackrose, vindy, and myself trekking areas of aden you normally couldn't get to without admins :P (they didn't help me level or anything, but I had fun). Of course vindy spawns almost a billion bunnies by accident and crashes the server lol...well black rose is gone and I'm too sure where vindy is, but oh well :P you guys were fun as hell to hang out with.
then there's the picture flameing, soupy, and myself made. "oomph oomph, I love willum is gay"
Teamspeak is also a great place to go (for memories), but right now I can't figure out how to get the damn thing to work (triumph!)

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
I came here via RSX back in 2003. I forgot the forum, sadly, till 2007. I've been active for half a year now...not much memores yet :P.

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
I joined this forum because of the Mu stuffs here and then i started to check out other sections of the forum as well and found out that this forum has a nice community . Later on , i began to found out about O2jam(online game) and learn things like how to set up a server and such stuffs. So i pmed Mental about my application to become a Mod for o2jam and then that's how i became a mod. And then i started to contribute more for my section and starts "modding" whenever i'm on ragezone. Although sometimes i do wish that i can help out the forum more but just that i don't have the ability to do so.
Well ,i shall end off my post with this line : Ragezone still rocks!!

September came and I started a new course, Sipher was in the same college as me but doing a seperate course, we all knew the codes to the computer rooms so I had the net again.
I started going on Rz again and joining in the forum discussions.

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
yeah a bit random, but at least he's thinking of you :) (in a non-sexual way I hope ;p).
Another RZ memory of mine was when RsX helped run the Lineage2 server back in the day. I remember there was a thread made saying something like "you suck" or something, but a few of us (or maybe just myself) asked if there was anything we could do to help. That was a fun server for the time that lasted.

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
The best thread will ALWAYS be the one with Devin posting from Iraq. I have never had so much fun reading a thread before. I believe CIA or something stormed his fathers house and took his computer as well.

And that is my story.
did u live in london when doing ur course with sipher??? he lived quite close to me, found out he lived 10 mins from me aswell as a few others which i was very suprised about!
my story: use to play counter-strike with solares and his mates quite alot, while chatting on msn he told me about euro mir, which took me a week to download, after that i was hooked on mir. after a year or 2 of playing it, luke aka solares told me about a new private mir2 server called ragezone. so i joined up and played for a while. as i didnt have internet at home i use to play at a internet cafe here and there. got to lvl 40 on the first ragezone server, remembering the likes of bazi etc. then the server got shut down so i didnt bither going net cafe anymore
a year later while working, i got the internet, started playing project 69 played it until 05, when i saw some noob called mental advertising his server called ragezone, wanted a change from 69 as it wasnt like mir, i wanted something more euro like, so started playing ragezone once again! found out i already had a forum account cause my email was used already, so i requested a password and got my forum account back, which only had 50 posts or so on it, and ive been back since then :)

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
I don't have many memories, either i wasn't paying attention or im too lazy to remember but im not well known as i really didn't start posting till about 2006 late 2006 but i pretty much recognize most of the old community as i was a long time reader. But i started out looking for mu servers and got engrossed in other sections, so my biggest waste of time would be MU!! don't play many online games now. Graphics card died so i got a crap one :(

Re: Your Ragezone Memories :)
