[Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
(Yes i am aware of the irony that this is doubleposted into this section from the recruitment section, but apparently the people this concerns doesnt really read the recruitment section so i apologize for this on beforehand....)
Oh where to start... WCell is an initiative we started in feb due to the fact that the public emulators at the time sucked (which they still do). No emulator has been able to provide a scalable, well designed and stable server for the wow community.
WCell is written in c# for .net 3.5, and is made to scale with modern multi-core cpus by using the unique way .net is able to do multithreading. For the db access we are using LINQ, and supports mssql/sql express and oracle. Our project aim is to make the most powerful emulator to date, using cutting edge .net technology.
The project is opensource and is licensed under GPL. ( WCell - Home ).
As we all know, the more the merrier (and the faster progress), which is why we are looking for new blood. If you are a mature and capable c# developer, dont hesistate to either contact me or hop on our irc chan #wcell @ irc.quakenet.org. We are a happy mix of both hobby programmers but also professional gamedevelopers and softwaredesigners. So, if you are up for a challenge, and have some skills you want to show the rest of the world...
<------i can be reached there. (uhm the contact info under my name)
We value maturity and the ability to work well in a team as much as your knowledge of c# and .net. (also, some knowledge about WoW certainly helps :P)
Re: [Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
Is this a joke. THere is not a stable Emulator out, lmfao Ascent fucking PWNS. it can hold up to 3000 players with the uptime of an hour+ And you think it sux! It was not good b4 I admit it from the low stability of some revisionsbut now it is a new age and is more stable then ever.

Re: [Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
Yea Emu, sucked long ago, but now,
Ascent Owns, best Server and and the Next Chapter -Mile Stone NCDB-Database doing he'lla job both together is awsome.
People like you quiting other teams and going off searching for devolpers to start all over again is almost waste of time, not sure you do better, since sounds like you dont really exist I never heard of your team.
why dont you get off your high horsey and go join Ascent and or Next Chapter Milestone Database devolpers, they doing kick ass job, if you want help improve stuff join them.
I not a member of either of them, but I running server and database of theirs and others have agreed that it owns
Re: [Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
wcell is older but it had realy slow development
Re: [Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
no it is definetly not a joke....ascent/antrix is in my opinion a hackjob...its not threadsafe at all which shows with all the threadrelated crashes... Besides, we didnt really like how it was done, too cheesy...
And no, we havent quit other teams, we started from scratch with a bunch of developers that hasnt been involved with other teams.
Sepperate projects start because we dont like what currently is available. You say that uptimer over an hour is good...What hole have you been hiding in your entire life? To be honest with you, your lack of understanding regarding the actual problem, only shows that you dont really know anything about the subject. It might be a rude way of saying it, but it is the truth nonetheless.
Re: [Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
I heard that NCDB is going to start making arcemu DB and work on wcell now
Re: [Emulator]WCell - looking for experienced C# developers
wow, way to ressurrect an old topic...anyways, ncdb is only making dbs for wcell now.
