[Xbox 360] Call of Duty 4 Beta

Who has been playing it here? I downloaded it today, and it's awesome, it's a great shooter, they always been, and personally i like it that they went to a present shooter, i mean their WW2 shooters and all were great, but it's great to have them release a master piece like this aswell. Ofcourse i do hope that the next CoD will be a historian shooter again, as those need to be made aswell. ;)

Anyway it just feels right, and with all the extra's they put in to make the game more then a standard shooter is (custom characters, levels, rewards etc) makes this 1 hell of a game.

There is a good chance i will be owning this game as soon as it launches.

I don't have it but I do want it. Just that I don't have an XBL Gold account so meh... Why can't they have an open PC beta. :cry:

I'll most likely get it the day it comes out. Did that for all of the other CoD games.

Well I had 20+ 48 hour passes. So every time I wanted to play online I just used one of them. XD

Might get it soon though. Mostly been holding out for the Gundam clone of BF1942. Once that game finally comes out I'm sure to have it. Or if I get bored enough to get some achievements.

And yeah I love to play online. I do it all the time on the PC and PS3. Where it's free. I'm just being a cheapass until I find some killer game that I want to spend hours upon hours playing. Maybe CoD4, if I get it for the X360, or Ace Combat 6 might do it.

Until then RFoM will keep my online gaming fix. Which by the way is one of the best multiplayer FPS games out there. And I might just get Warhawk also as it looks kickass.

Yeah I downloaded it last night, I fucking love it, I'm going to get it on the launch or shortly after, I loved the WWII but this one just tops it, and I personal preferred CoD2 over CoD3 and now the makers made it again almost exactly the same. I might be playing tonight (Australian time) either that or Gears so yeah if anyone wants to play add me my GT is ChickenBomb (most likely after midnight.

CoD3 wasn't all that great because Infinity Ward didn't make it. CoD4 was actually going to be CoD3 but Activision wanted one more WWII shooter so they had the company that did the CoD console games to do CoD3. Which made it suck in comparison though it was still a good game.

I've had it for like 3 weeks or so. Unfortunately didn't get to play much. Just played for like 2-3 hours now tho so woot! Its pretty damn awesome tho. This is simply a must have game for me. Hooray for Christmas lol.

Too bad there aren't really any great sniper maps on the beta, It is still a great game.

I don't know, Overgrown is a pretty good sniper map, and some parts on crash, Vacant is just Blegh for sniping.

Its for PC too, luckily :D. I'll try the demo when it comes out, is there a beta release already?

I missed the first chance to get in the Beta so luckily I got in the second one. I have been a great fan of the Call of Duty series including the 3rd one. I was disappointed to hear that the 4th was something completely new to the sequel. I was hoping for another World War II franchise. Well it has only been 2 days since I started playing the game and so far so good. I love the new features in the game. The graphics looks the same compared to the 3rd one but I have to keep in mind that this is just a Beta and I am bound to see major improvement in the final version.

I still doubt I will be buying COD 4. I have always preferred Battlefield Series over Call of Duty Series and Battlefield:Bad Company is due soon.

Major improvements in the final version? That's a absolute no, the game is gonna be released in 1,5 months, if they still have to redo the textures now and all, then they would be in deep shit.

What you see in the beta is pretty much the final version, all they will do is possibly tweak some settings and remove some bugs, but on the visual side it's all done.

Battlefield? You mean that buggy game? No, CoD is much better IMO. I'm more into the game, have more contact with other players and its more realistic. CoD4 looks so awesome. I always played CoD1 (UO), great fun even when its old. But the new one looks great. What are the system requirements? Will my 8600GTS can run it on max settings? (I can with BF2142 and BioShock)

I know Battlefield 2 for 360 is a buggy game. EA never bothered to fix anything after the game was released for a year. Some improvements were done for few months but than plainly nothing. Just like COD 4 being a big title by Infinity Ward, Bad Company is a major title by EA.

So far only couple of videos have been released and the game is expected to be released sometime next year. The videos have revealed that anything is destroyable (buildings, bridges or other land structure). EA has also promised to focus more on Single Player unlike its predecessors. But then again, not allot of information has been leaked to the public so we can't really tell what Bad Company is going to be like.

Loving the Call of Duty 4 Beta! Been a fan of Call of Duty since the 1st one and tbh I loved the 3rd one just as much as the rest >< but this has topped them all by far, you probably won't see any huge gfx changes to the MP since its MP and got to support 12 players is it? or 16, but the Single Player will look amazing I'm sure off it :)

Already at max rank in the beta :( which is a shame since now I kinda don't want to play now I can't move anywhere :P but I'm sure I will and hopefully will get upped a tad more soonish.

Shame I won't be buying it for quite a few months after the release date, just got quite a few others games I would rather have atm :(

You can always level some other weapons. ;)

Yeah the Beta is the full engine. All it's there is to test for bugs and to fix those bugs. You might get some minor tweaks like better lighting and shadows but nothing major with textures at all.

They can't do it as the engine will need to be reoptimized and gone though another beta to sort out the FPS issues.

I doubt you can run BioShock on max settings with that card. No way you can do high detail shader effects with a weak card.

CoD4 should run on medium-high settings with low AF and no AA with no problem.
