WikipediaQuote:
An AS350B2 Squirrel helicopter registered to McRae [1] crashed 1 mile north of Lanark, Scotland on 15 September 2007, which is close to the McRae family home. McRae is known to be a keen helicopter pilot, and his agent Jean-Eric Freudiger says he and his 5 year old son Johnny were killed in the crash,[1] in which Strathclyde police confirm there were no survivors.[7] Formal identification of the dead is not expected for some time.
Harsh tbh, especially considering his 5 year old son was on the helicopter with him. :/
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :(
this sucks... a british hero bites the dust :( if its true it will be on the newspapers 2moro
Outcome doesn't look good but I'll wait a bit before time before believing anything.
I first thought 'crash' meant a car crash, then when I read the next line that he died at a helicopter crash I was like whoa, that dude has some serious bad luck to crash twice on the same day, and not only to crash twice but to crash, be rescued by a chopper, crash the chopper. That's the image I had. :icon6:
Meh, this is quite a shame, damn good driver.
May i ask who that is ;O
edit: nvm... guess he was a racecar driver of some sort
Dammit!, RIP >.<.
didnt they just make a new collin game? DiRT or somethin like that?
If this is true. RIP.
So much death in the last week. R.I.P. :(
Former world rally champion Colin McRae is presumed to be dead after his helicopter crashed near his home in Scotland, killing all on board.
British police are yet to confirm McRae's death until they have a formal identification, but his agent has confirmed the Scotsman was piloting the vehicle.
It is thought that one of the passengers was the five-year-old son of the keen helicopter pilot and enthusiast.
Police said that four people were on board the helicopter, which came down in a wooded area in Lanarkshire, Scotland at approximately 2.10am on Sunday NZT.
McRae, 39, secured his first World Rally Championship victory in New Zealand back in 1993 and it was also Subaru's first ever WRC win.
He then went on to win Rally New Zealand in the next two years.
The son of five-times British rally champion Jimmy, he wrote his name in the record books in 1995 when he became the first Briton to win the world rally championship.
He made a brief return to the WRC in October last year, replacing defending champion Sebastian Loeb in the Citroen team for the Rally of Turkey, the 146th of his career, after the Frenchman broke his arm in a bicycle accident.
Police are expected to release the details of the victims overnight

Theres no chance that he survived :| I Live In Lanarkshire where it happened :|

Just read the morning newspaper. Live in peace young boy.
Now it was time, no more games named 'Colin Mcrae Rally' anymore yay>_>
He is dead because the pictures in our newspaper has the heli and it burst into flames and they were killed instantly...
guess that doesn't give him much of a chance of surviving, R.I.P.
