Gum? is that nicorette?.......Chew tons and tons of gum
sweet man, glad to see you're quitting smoking :)
I suggest just going stuff to take your mind off of it. I know you're asking what exactly, but I'm sure you do things that can't require for you to smoke!
ohhhhhhh I know what will
A GIRLFRIEND WHO HATES SMOKING BUT IS AS HOT AS FUCK AND WILL DO ANYTHING YOU WISH! Good luck!
Do not quit! Smoke something else. (w.) ;p
Anytime you feel sort of hyper and restless, do push-ups till you can't anymore if at all possible. That helps plus it comes with an added benefit, which also boosts your success as you realize this benefit is made possible by the extra energy you have from not smoking anymore.
Enjoy saying no. Not just that, realize the tickle you get when you want to smoke really bad feels good, actually. It does if you try! You could say the worse you feel about it the prouder you can be!
Drink a lot of water. It's yet another substitute, plus I guarantee after a while you'll notice it's making you feel even fresher. Besides, when you used to have a cig break now you'll get a toilet break. It never was about the cig but the break, right? ;) Carry that little bottle of water with you everywhere you go and you'll be like those cool, energetic people from coke commercials, with the difference you're drinking something that doesn't corrode your teeth. And no - they don't smoke in the commercials.
Pay attention to TV shows & movies and how many cool people you see there. They don't need to smoke to be cool, it comes from something else.
The best, and believe you me, it's a lot easier to get one, too, if you don't have that smelly thing hanging between your lips and making you look stupid.Quote:

Hey, it doesn't make a difference, the point is to just waste that feeling of extra energy. If you really can't do a single push-up do them with your knees on the ground for starters - and I know from experience you'll be doing those so often (but it helps) it won't take long till you can do dozens the right way.
oh em gee....
Lol anyway, I know your feeling because i smoke as well and i'm only 17... ive smoked for about a year and it's by far the worst mistake i have ever made. But it is very very true that keeping active will help you ignore the crave...
I went on vacation to catalina island not to long back and was gone 2 weeks, i had not one cigarette the whole time. It was hard at first but being on the beach, around friends, just enjoying so much more you could do without worrying about taking that small break to smoke makes all the difference. But then again i'm not one to give advice, knowing i yet again made a horrible decision and let the crave rule me instead of me ruling it. I had a cig as soon as i got off the plane to go home.
And let me tell ya, i got so damn light headed for not smoking for so long that it made me almost sick, then i was pounded by the horrible reality that i had gone for so long, tried to hard not to smoke. Then at the very instant it was easier to get a hold of i gave in. Thats not a feeling you want to feel, it might seem as a small petty whine but it's a horrible feeling to be disapointed in yourself over such a small petty crave. My point is don't give up, or you will regret it so badly you will hate the fact you were so weak that you couldn't overcome something that you started in the first place.
Oh, and one more point to this...
Realize that by quitting you didn't sign a pact to stay smoke-free forever. If a time comes where you absolutely need to smoke... sure, you're free to! But you can always do this one more hour without one, right?
I'm quiting smoking atm, what i do is i'm only smoking 2 cigs per day, one after lunch and another after. I'm doing this until i can pass the hole day without those urges to have a smoke.
The last time i had a cigarette was when i was in college, which was like... 8months ago i think. I didn't take any gum or nicorette, was fairly easy for me.
you should really post this in Outerworld section
PS: im glad you quit smoking
Lots of sex :biggrinth
mhm..it'll do the job to keep you and your mind away from smoking! :pash:
back to spamzilla
no point on putting this on outerworld
P.s.: I also quit smoking my cigs , i had to go to my roomate bedroom and ask for more.
This 1 of those topics that are not spam, and definetly should be in the Outerworld.
Anyway you can always try to reward yourself, see how much you save, and use that money (or atleast part of it) at the end of the month to buy something nice.
Congrats on quiting, wish you get thru without any problems ^_^
nice one
Maybe try suckers, if the water and pushups dont work for you. The point is smoking is an oral fixation for some, it means your hands and mouth want to be busy and miss doing that smoking action.
Then you would have something in your mouth to keep it occupied.
Habits are strange that way, it seems human nature that they are often easily replaced by other habits the goal is to try to replace them with good habits or at least better habits. I believe that's why if you make a plan such as Negatas it will work.
Anyway I don't smoke and never have, but wish you the best to stop. I've seen many friends go through trying to quit.
First few days is hard, they have a lot of cravings then they cough up stuff a lot (gross to think that stuff is in you- but good to know your body is healing)
after about 2-5 weeks seems the hardest, and most of them started up again.
Be strong you can do it, and good luck.
Just being around my friends who smoke one of those friend's dad (hangs around us). He sounds like his lungs are about the snap off at any moment.
Every time I'd ask a friend "hey, you wanna go out and guy some cigs?" they'd always say "Will, you don't need to smoke" when, indeed, they have smoked quite a bit. Oh well, you sometimes needs to learn from others' expense, even if it kills them.
I had one cigarette and I wanted to vomit so bad; I'm never going near another one.
I suggest what Negata says for you to do. Do ANYTHING to make you tired and not want one. Go out with friends who will support you from not smoking. It's a stupid habit that CAN take your life. I don't understand why tobacco is still a cool thing to do now. I really wish a lot of my friends at work would stop doing it :\
when i first started at like 16 i couldnt do 1 aswell, do as many as you can and try to do them everyday. now i can do 10 sets of 10 easy (best to do them in sets of 10)
if im guessing right, i think he uses sunflower oil as a lubricant lmfao!Quote:
huh? sunflower semen?
i also smoke i feel i want to quit soon aswell, great tips and inexpensive! and good luck with your quest
It's great that you're quitting smoking & I wish you the best with it just don't get too addicted to the gum
Just think of the day you will die because of smoking!
Then you wont smoke.^^
started with 10 'cause of my older friends (group pressure >.>)
ceased with 11
started again with 12 and i smoke until today (i badly regret it)
well i wish you the best of luck!
I never understood why people start, i personally never tried it, and it never even crossed my mind. I still remember that all the guys in my class tryed a smoke, so there i was, 7 guys smoking from a package that 1 of them stole from his mom, and i'm thinking "wtf are you guys doing"
Using products to quit smoking? Thats a waste of money. You might as well throw your money away if you're buying that useless crap. My grandma smoked for about 55 years, from when she was 20 till she was 78. She never used any "use this to quit smoking" products. All you need is self discipline. It helps to have a real good reason to quit as well. I'm not talking about the reason being you'll die from bad lungs when you get older. I mean something like your husband, in her case anyway, dieing from lung cancer because he started smoking when he was a teenager. She quit smoking because she personally experienced a close person's death from it, so she knew exactly what would happen to her if she didn't stop.
Finding that good reason to quit will help you a lot more than wasting money on those useless "stop smoking" products.
heh I felt the same way... It's the curiousity factor that makes people wanna try so bad. Not even peer pressure, just another friend of yours saying "Dude I'm so high" or "This feels soo weird it was soo fun" kinda gives you that uneasy sense like, what is it really like? But then you just look ahead and you see that afterwords their braindead and smell like crap (well the day after anyway not all the time)
In any case it depends how obsessive you are, if you can't quit cigs just stick with weed and nic gum, cigs are the worst, even my weed smoking friends say that
P.s. I do not personally smoke and I never will again, I tried it once and it sucked balls
