[360] 1 mo. free XBOx LIVE?

Hi RaGEZONERs, I recently purchased a Halo 3 Edition XBOX 360, which came with many goodies and what not, one of 'em which being a 1 mo. free XBOX LIVE GOLD subscription. So my question is, how long does that offer last? I tried contacting Best Buy (where I got it), they basically don't know.

Since I have midterms coming up soon, I'm not gonna be playing online much. Maybe from December, I'll start playing more occasionally (right now, I only have HALO 3).

Also, is getting XBOX LIVE GOLD for 12-months worth it? Or should I get like 6-months or something to test it out first?

When ever you make an xbl account you get the first month free. So you can do it at any time to get it.

And the 12 month account is a better deal then the 6 month. But in the end it's down to how much you will actually be playing it.

The 1 month Xbox Live Gold will give you enough to see if you like it, personally i'd say that if you like playing online, that you will love Xbox Live.

As far as i know the 1 free month can be used at any time, the first 3 accounts created on the Xbox 360 will have the 1 month Gold, you will have it right away, there are no ways to pass these months over or anything.

What some people do is create 3 accounts, each having 1 month Gold, which would cover you the first 3 months, ofcourse this does mean that you will lose your savegames and gamerscore everytime.

Its good to get the 1 month free. you can see all the games online, then you can think on what to do.

Im with NoPeace, its best to get the 12 Month sub. it comes out cheaper.

Right now you can get a special Halo 3 version (doesn't add anything) that gives you 12+1 month gold, so you get 13 instead of 12.

At the moment i got Xbox Live running until may 2009.

Hmm thank you all for the helpful advice. I'm going to sign up on XBOX LIVE after thanksgiving week. Can't decide on a decent gamertag. Hopefully, online HALO 3 is worth it :)

Just another offtopic quick question. If my 360 gives me the red light, am I automatically covered by microsoft's warranty? Or is there anything additional that I have to sign up for?

You will have atleast 1 year warranty on any failures (here we get 2 years) and a extra year on red light problems. And yes, you will be covered from the start, no additional stuff is needed.

One more SMALLL BUT important thing.... last one I promise.... is there any way to hook up the 360 controller to the computer using the plug-n-play charge kit or otherwise any other method?

id get 1 year, cause Halo3 is awsome, i finished campaign mode already in all the levels, and live is also awsome. plus if u get a yeard instead of 6 months, its a lot cheaper.
