people need to buy a new controller someday anyway, as those batteries in the bluetooth controllers don't last forever(as stated their lifetime is around 2 years or so)
No it was because the didn't have the rights to the vibration feature. Now since the lawsuit is settled they can implement it finally.
Ditto. Lithium Ion batters are only good for about 2 years. After that they wont hold a good charge.
It's not that easy.
1) You'll have to take the controller completely apart
2) They don't sell the batteries
So easiest way is just to buy new ones.

Sony did actually say it was because rumble was last gen, sure the reality was because they had the lawsuit, but the fact remains that Sony talked out of their ass.
Anyway i'm a little surprised that they didn't make a battery pack like on the 360 controller, infact i assumed you could just replace it, pretty weird that they took this road.
I was saying no to that they suck at marketing. :1:
You can replace it. There is instructions in the manual on how to do it. But you do need to take the whole thing apart to get to the battery and as of right now you can't buy them. :icon6:
Probably in a few months there will be batteries showing up but as of right now it's not really needed as the system isn't even a year old.

Still pretty weird, and it also forces you to use a cable, some believe it's a advantage, but i always got a bunch of batteries around, so i never have to use a cable (i don't got 1, but i do have a wired controller)
Btw i like it that the PS3 controller gets shock, because it's to damn light at the moment, i picked one up a while ago, and it felt like i was holding 1 of those old PS1 controllers (the regular ones), and i kinda like having some weight in my hands.
i quite like the light ps3 controllers and i dont miss the vibration function. i havnt bought a 2nd controller yet as i knew that the ones with vibrate would be coming out.
Well missing the shock is really how you look at it and what you're used to, in a way it ain't a big deal, but it still adds a sense to when you play a game. For example if i play Forza 2 with the controller (with the steering wheel it's different and very cool due to the force feedback), then i know when a wheel is off the road, you feel it, when you feel that you move from the side. Some might say this is not a big deal, but i wouldn't want to miss it, even though i would probably forget about it in a matter of weeks.
biggest thing i had to get used to was the lack of wires...i kept putting my finger round the back to fiddle with the cable
Dual Shock 3 its awesome i will buy it :o
I doubt I'd go for this one just as yet coz am more than happy with my current set of controllers. But the shift is inevitable I guess.
Get some recharge packs. :1:
I would go though so many batteries with the damn x360 controllers that it was ridiculous. Went though about 15 in one week once. -.-
The rechargeable batteries are so great as you don't ever need to worry about buying batteries or have them dying on you. Just pop them out and put them in the charge station while you are not playing.
Yeah the PS3 controllers are so damn light. They are actually lighter then the original PS1 controller. Since you don't have the weight of the cord.
That's just really annoying at first as it's like you are just holding air. Took me ages to adapt to its weight.
Yeah it's both. Not a big deal and a big deal. The shock really does allow you to do so much on instinct. Like you feel it and you just know what is about to come.
Playing without it is like a piece of the experience is gone. But still. If you don't use it you don't notice it. Then again if you constantly switching between a system with it and a system with out it you'll notice the lack of shock.
Lol I was the opposite. When I first got the x360 I fell in love with the fact it has no wires. Gave me the freedom to sit as far back as I want and don't have to worry about getting tangled up in the wires nor anything else.
Yeah. Once the batteries goes you just need to replace them. Then what will you do? Get the one with or without? :1:

I got 12 rechargable AA batteries, they got 2500 mAh and lasts about 20 hours, so i got for 120 hours batteries, basicly i never run out. They're also extremely cheap here, you got 4 of those rechargables for like 2,50 euro, nothing can beat that.Quote:

Same here, i just love it that we are finally beyond the wire crap, there is only 1 disadvantage... it takes me longer to find my controller, when i stop playing i put it on the 360, but while i'm gaming and i put it down then i put it at the weirdest places. But i definetly love it, and when i play my PS2 then i really have to get used to the wire, it just feels so unnatural.Quote:

Yeah. Rechargeable batteries are really the way to go. Stupid disposable batteries may be a little cheaper at first but the way you go through them just makes them stupid to use.
I know what you mean. I keep my controllers on top of my DVD player, next to the x360, when I'm not using them. But when I'm playing and put them down I seem to have trouble finding them. XD
Same with the PS3. I lost that damn controller for 3 days. -.-
And yeah. Wired controllers just feel so unnatural. That wire just pulls at one side of it and makes it feel so lopsided. Really damn annoying when you are not used to it.
